Qantas’ brand new Business Lounge at Adelaide Airport is now open!

Accessible to Qantas Business Class passengers, as well as Qantas Platinum, Platinum One and Oneworld Emerald frequent flyers, this is the first time Qantas has operated a dedicated Business Lounge in Adelaide.

The opening of the new Business Lounge marks the completion of the airline’s Adelaide Airport lounge precinct upgrade. This saw the previous “one-size-fits-all” Qantas Club split into a smaller Qantas Club and the new Business Lounge.

Although Qantas Club members and Gold frequent flyers won’t have access to the Business Lounge (unless flying Business Class), the opening of the Business Lounge should also alleviate some of the crowding that the new Qantas Club has seen in recent months during the construction period.

This space is effectively a combined domestic and international Business Lounge, since Qantas does not operate a lounge in the international section of Adelaide Airport. Eligible passengers on Qantas’ new flights from Adelaide to Auckland will have access to this lounge before clearing international security and immigration.

About Qantas’ new Adelaide Domestic Business Lounge

The new space has everything you’d expect of a domestic Business Lounge. There’s seating for around 190 people, as well as toilets and showers, a bar, barista coffee and buffet food.

In mid-2025, Qantas will open a live cooking station the lounge known as the “Market Kitchen”, with a selection of dishes prepared to order that are inspired by the Adelaide Central Markets and South Australian produce.

Adelaide’s famous Central Markets have also inspired some of the lounge’s design.

Around 80% of seats in this lounge will have access to power stations, including wireless charging mats. However, the new lounge seems to be lacking the large number of work desk stations found at the front of the old Qantas Club lounge.
