Qantas trans-Tasman airfares, which were already at record lows a couple of weeks ago, have just sunk even further! Right now, return Qantas Economy class flights from Brisbane to New Zealand are available for as little as $225 return!
The cheap Qantas flights are available to Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington. These prices include checked baggage, meals and in-flight entertainment, which come complimentary with all Qantas tickets.
The cheapest flights are available to Christchurch, with tickets available on many dates for just $141 one-way or $225 return.
It’s very unusual for a full service carrier to offer such cheap flights to New Zealand. The base fare on this ticket is only $20 each way; the rest is government taxes and airport charges!
Direct flights from Brisbane to Auckland are also heavily discounted, with tickets available for $229 return. You can even fly on the Qantas A330 between Brisbane and Auckland for this price.
Qantas flights from Brisbane to Wellington are available from $246 return. Qantas does not fly directly from Brisbane to Wellington, so flights are via Auckland. The Auckland-Wellington sectors would be on a “QF” codeshare service operated by Jetstar or Air New Zealand.
You could also fly from Brisbane to Wellington via Sydney for an extra $10-15 each way.
You could almost make a Qantas status run out of a trip from Brisbane to Wellington. You’d earn 60 Qantas status credits each way, provided all flights were booked on “QF” flight numbers.
These fares are not part of the Qantas Fly Away sale that was released today, nor are they advertised on the Qantas website. In fact, Qantas is currently advertising flights from Brisbane to Auckland on its website for $384 one-way! But these fares are available to book on the Qantas website if you look for them!
The following travel dates appear to be available as part of this extraordinary sale:
- 27 April until 23 June 2020
- 27 July until mid-September 2020
Unfortunately, these very cheap Qantas flights to New Zealand are only available for departures from Brisbane. Qantas flights from Sydney and Melbourne to New Zealand are not currently being discounted as heavily.
