Imagine relaxing in your luxurious suite in the sky while being served champagne and caviar… Flying in First Class is a dream for many, but such luxury often costs many thousands of dollars. The good news for the majority of us that can’t afford to buy a First Class ticket is that frequent flyer points can be used to score an almost free ticket!

One of the cheapest and easiest ways to treat yourself to pointy-end travel is on one of Emirates’ daily flights to Auckland from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Convenient schedules even make a same-day return trip possible.

Both Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Emirates Skywards miles – 54,000 to be exact – can be redeemed for a seat in First on any of Emirates’ flights to New Zealand. With many Australians avidly collecting Qantas points, this redemption would not be out of reach for many. Plus, for those saving their points, regular sales mean that it can also be possible to pick up a First Class ticket on these routes for under $1,000.

A number of our members have flown across the Tasman for the day in order to tick that First Class flight off their bucket list. With Emirates First Class boasting even a sky-high shower, it’s certainly a nice way to do so in style.

First Class flying is more attainable than you may think. But be warned – once you’ve tried the pointy end once, you may not want to return to the tail-end of the plane!
