Jetstar is Moving to Terminal 2 in Singapore
Jetstar flights out of Singapore will move to Terminal 2 at Changi Airport from 21 January 2026.
The move comes less than three years since Jetstar previously moved from Terminal 1 to 4 in Singapore.
Singapore-based Jetstar Asia had also moved with Jetstar to Terminal 4 in 2023, however Jetstar Asia closed down in July 2025. Australia-based Jetstar still serves Singapore with flights to/from Perth, Melbourne and Bali.
What the change to Terminal 2 means for Jetstar passengers
In Singapore, Qantas and the majority of Jetstar’s other partner airlines use Terminal 1, which is also where the Qantas lounges are located.
Connecting between Terminals 1 and 2 at Changi Airport is much easier than connecting between Terminals 1 and 4. That’s because Terminal 4 is located in a completely separate building, linked to the other terminals and the Changi Airport MRT (train) station by a shuttle bus.
On the other hand, Terminals 1 and 2 are co-located in the same physical building. It’s just a short walk or a complimentary train ride to get between those two terminals.
For Qantas Club, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers on Jetstar, this means accessing the Qantas lounges in Singapore’s Terminal 1 will become much easier.
Terminal 2 is also conveniently linked directly to the city’s train network.
Jetstar didn’t originally want to move to Terminal 4
Jetstar and Jetstar Asia’s previous relocation to Terminal 4 was initially announced by Changi Airport in July 2022. It was originally to take effect from late October 2022, but the Jetstar Group had apparently not yet agreed to the change and vocally opposed it at the time.
“We are extremely disappointed that the Changi Airport Group (CAG) has chosen to unilaterally announce a plan to relocate the Jetstar Group to Terminal 4 at Changi International Airport, before any agreement has been reached,” Jetstar said in a statement in July 2022.
“A joint study was only agreed to be undertaken last week and this announcement completely disregards that agreement and the impact a move would have on our customers, our people, and our operations.
“While we remain committed to working with CAG, today’s announcement by the airport ignores our concerns and goes against the spirit of the long-standing partnership we have built over the years.”
After completing their joint study, Jetstar Asia and the airport operator agreed that Jetstar would move in March 2023. In a statement, Changi Airport Group acknowledged that the airline needed more time to prepare for the change.
At that time, former Jetstar Asia CEO Barathan Pasupathi described moving to Terminal 4 as the “start of a new chapter” for his airline.
Pasupathi also said in 2023 that the move to T4 would “enable us to grow our fleet, our capacity, and our network of exciting destinations so millions more will have access to our affordable fares.”
With Jetstar Asia no longer in business, it’s presumably now easier for the airport to accommodate just three daily Jetstar flights at one of its other terminals.
