Hainan Airlines’ magnificent Business Class deals from Australia to Europe are back! The Skytrax 5-star airline is offering return Business tickets from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns to various destinations across Europe from under $3,000 return.

These Hainan Business sale fares are available for travel to London, Paris, Rome and Brussels. The flights all operate via China, and in some cases a long layover is required. But why not use this as an opportunity to break up the trip and do some sightseeing? For example, you could spend a day in Xi’an visiting the Terracotta Warriors when flying from Melbourne to Paris. And if you want an even longer layover in China, free stopovers are also possible. (Don’t forget that you can stop over in many Chinese cities without a visa using the TWOV program.)

These fares are available for travel during designated off-peak periods (including next year’s September school holidays). To access these prices, you’ll need to depart Australia between the following dates:

  • 1 January to 9 February 2019
  • 20 February to 31 March 2019
  • 21 August to 20 November 2019

Hainan Airlines had similar sale fares available to Europe back in August. Read more: 5-Star Business Class to Europe from $3,000 return

Here’s one example of a current fare from Melbourne to Paris. The flights show up on ITA Matrix for $3,394…

But when booking directly on the Hainan Airlines website, the price is just $3,004 round-trip.

We also found flights from Cairns to Brussels (via Shenzhen) for $2,913.56 return:

And Hainan Airlines Business Class from Sydney to London is selling for $3,238.56 return. But you would need to spend a day in Changsha, China in both directions.

Hainan Airlines is a partner of Virgin Australia, but you can only earn Velocity points and status credits for the sectors between Australia and China. You won’t earn anything with Velocity Frequent Flyer for the flights between China and Europe – although you could credit these flights to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan or Etihad Guest instead.

A return trip to Europe using this Hainan Airlines Business sale would also be more than enough to complete a Hainan Airlines Gold status challenge.
