Business Class Deals: Sweden to Australia from $3,365 return

Regular Australian Frequent Flyer readers will know that the best Business Class flight deals are found outside of Australia. Thanks to an invisible “Australia tax”, return Business class tickets from Australia to Europe generally start from around $6,000. But by purchasing a round-trip ticket from Europe to Australia, you can fly Business Class on top-tier airlines for almost half the price!

There are currently some fantastic Business Class deals from Sweden to Australia with two top-tier airlines. Singapore Airlines sale fares are available from Stockholm to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Qatar Airways sale fares also available from Gothenburg to Sydney.

Singapore Airlines Business Class Deals from Sweden to Australia

With the current Singapore Airlines sale, you can fly from Stockholm to Sydney in Business class from $3,365 return:

Similar fares are also available to Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. In addition, it is possible to depart from Gothenburg and connect through Copenhagen for a similar price. The Gothenburg-Copenhagen flight will be operated by SAS.

This Singapore Airlines sale ends on 11 September 2018 and is valid for travel from 15 September 2018. There is a minimum stay of 7 days and a maximum stay of 3 months. Tickets must be issued in Europe; we suggest booking on the Swedish version of the Singapore Airlines website.

These flights book into “D” class. If crediting to Velocity Frequent Flyer, you would earn 560 status credits and at least 24,780 Velocity points for the round-trip from Stockholm to Sydney. Alternatively, if you’d like to earn Star Alliance status, consider crediting to Asiana Club where you’ll earn 24,767 miles.

The Singapore Airlines A350 is used between Singapore and Stockholm. Note that there is a brief technical stop in Moscow (DME) en-route to/from Stockholm.

Qatar Airways Business Class Deals from Sweden to Australia

Qatar Airways will begin flights to Gothenburg, Sweden from 12 December 2018. Fares from Gothenburg to Sydney are currently very reasonable. The airline is also offering 10% off base fares on flights departing Gothenburg between 15 January and 31 March 2019. Use the promo code FLY2019 and book by 10 September 2018 on the Qatar Airways website to receive the discount.

The Qatar Airways Boeing 787 operates between Gothenburg and Doha. Between Doha and Sydney, a mix of A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs with the excellent Qsuites are used.

You can earn Qantas points and status credits for Qatar Airways flights. A free stopover in Doha for up to 4 days is permitted in one direction.

These fares are only for departures from Sweden

These fares are only available for round-trip tickets departing Sweden. It is not possible to book a round-trip originating in Australia for the same price. But if you live in Australia and travel to Europe at least once per year, you can still take advantage of the better deals available overseas by booking return tickets from Sweden. The return leg of each ticket would be the start of your next trip.
