Our newest Airfare of the Week belongs to EVA Air, which has round-trip Economy Class fares from Brisbane (BNE) to Munich (MUC) and other ports in Central Europe from AU$1,485.

EVA is a member of Star Alliance, so you can earn points in some Star Alliance programs with this airfare. It could be useful if you’re after some flights to Europe that avoid the Middle East, as these fares (and prices) are still available for August/September dates this year.

Here are the full details of this great Economy Class airfare from Brisbane to Munich…

Sample itinerary & pricing

You can book this fare on many OTAs, or you can use the EVA website. Note that pricing may be slightly higher on the EVA website:

Flights into Vienna (VIE) and Milan (MXP) are also similarly priced. Note that there’s a long layover on the outbound from Brisbane-Europe, although you can easily enter Taiwan and explore Taipei!

Note that fares and availability are subject to change. This fare may not be available by the time you read this article, and you might need to be flexible with travel dates. We recommend booking ASAP to avoid disappointment!

Travel dates & fare rules

Here are the details of this airfare:

  • Maximum stay at the destination of 12 months
  • No stopovers allowed
  • Two 23kg checked bags per passenger

On-board product

The flight from Brisbane to Taipei is on a modern Boeing 787-10, with a 3-3-3 Economy Class configuration.

From Taipei onwards to Munich, you may find yourself on either a Boeing 787 or a Boeing 777. EVA is one of the airlines with a 3-3-3 Economy Class layout on some of its 777s, which adds a little bit of extra comfort.

EVA Air also offers free Wi-Fi, and you’ll get a selection of Western or Taiwanese food onboard.

Earning points & status credits with this airfare

This fare books into “V” and “S” class. As EVA is a member of Star Alliance, you could earn points for this airfare in programs including:

  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • EVA Air Infinity MileageLands

Note that “V” class can only earn miles with EVA Air Infinity MileageLands. This means you may have to choose between earning miles or using your Star Alliance benefits, if you do have status.

However, S class can earn some miles (50% of the distance flown) on all the programs listed above, as well as some others.
