Take Off! The First Qantas Double Status Credits Offer of 2026

Qantas has just announced its latest double status credits offer, hot off the heels of Virgin Australia’s latest bonus status credit promotion. The “Twice as Rewarding” offer gives frequent flyers the choice to register for double points or double status credits.
Many AFF members use double status credits offers as an opportunity to book planned flights – or status runs – to accelerate their progress to attain or maintain higher status levels.
Australian Frequent Flyer has a dedicated article on the best Qantas status runs for 2026.
How to take advantage of this offer
To register, download the Qantas App. If you already have it, you’ll need the latest version to see the offer. You are given a choice to accept either double status credits or double points.
You may also be able to register via clicking on an email link or directly on the Qantas website.
To be eligible, you’ll need to make a new booking between 24th February 2026 and 11:59pm AEDT on 2 March for travel between 3 March 2026 and 12 February 2027. You can change your reward preference up until the 2 March 2026 deadline.
As usual, only flights marketed and operated by Qantas within the booking and travel window will earn bonus status credits or bonus points. This includes QantasLink flights and flights operated on Finnair wet leased aircraft.
For clarity, flights on Jetstar don’t count. Nor do codeshare flights operated by Oneworld partners, Emirates or any other codeshare operators, even though those codeshares may carry a QF flight number.

While many people get excited about bonus status credits, it’s important to consider your own circumstances. You might be better off earning double points if you don’t have that much travel on Qantas planned, for example.
Note that if you have Points Club or Points Club Plus, Classic Reward bookings on Qantas flights will also earn double status credits.
Will this offer count towards Lifetime Status?
The last double status offer caused a stir among frequent flyers as the initial T&Cs stated that bonus status credits earned would not count towards lifetime status. Qantas subsequently reneged on this condition.
However, in this promotion Qantas have made it clear that bonus status credits earned under this promotion will count towards Lifetime Status!
What are your plans for this double status offer?
Qantas double status credit offers always generate lively discussion on the Australian Frequent Flyer forum. Do you plan to take advantage of this offer?
Whether you a seasoned member planning an elaborate status run or new to the world of status credits, there’s plenty of food for thought on the forum!
