JohnK, an interesting hypothesis. Alan in CBR brought up the subject about when I'd get to 1K POSTS, but I thought it would be great to start a thread "in the interest of getting irregular posters actually posting" by using a prize for the fun of it (similar to the other thread heading in this Forum). I'd think others that know me on this Forum (NM, IainF, Alan in CBR, thadocta, shillard, Willyroo, etc) would probably concur with your thoughts. I love to give what I can to the Forum (both knowledge and now by prize), because in giving, I receive...both by way of thanks and updating my knowledge as well.
Yes, I didn't want to reach the target by 7 Oct, thought that was self-defeating. Yes, I knew that NM would catch up and that might make for a close-run thing. But NM is also a gentleman that I respect very much for his knowledge and our camaraderie.
Why do I have days with few and days with many - easy, work and social/home life goes on and they are more imporant than AFF or FT. For example, like NM hasn't posted over the weekend, neither will I from Wed PM to Fri PM this week, as I'm in CBR and SYD for work. Even though I have wi-fi access, it's finding free wi-fi access that's hard and the time to post - I'm not going to go out of my way, work comes first. I'm also off to the QF AGM on Thursday (CBR), so I'll have my fill there of al things flying . In fact, I'm sure we all have the same posting ratios over time.
I missed out on being a moderator over on the FT QF Forum because I hesitated to put my name in a couple of months ago (not that I really mind, as sometimes I think it's a thankless task). Sometimes I'd rather keep friends than create enemies...petty squables being what they are. I also think there are better moderators than me (both on FT and here). I'd nominate NM in a heartbeat over me.
