I wonder what handicap I will get for the AFF tournament? We are using official AGU handicap? I should be off 14 by then.

I better not mention that while I was in Thailand I shot 75 at Emerald, bogeyed the par 5 18th, 78 at Green Valley and 81 at Old Siam. ;)

Hmmmm... both you and Serfy minus 33 :D

Mr!

Hmmm ... currently booked with SWMBO for 17:55 return; 18:55 is available at cost of $44 each.

Timing:

  • Golf Four hours (one hopes) 10am-2pm
  • 19th? 1 or 2 Hours?
  • Google maps say ~¾ Hour to Airport
  • ¼ hour for boarding
  • ¼ hour to locate/pickup SWMBO :p
  • ¼ hour for Bag Drop Queue (Clubs)
  • ¾ finnagle/QP time

5:55pm just comfortable, 6:55pm (last direct flight to MEL) - more comfortable.

... What flights are available for $44?
I should have been clearer - That's the change fee

In early August I booked flights for this particular weekend at $129 (x 4). (2 pax each way).

For two PAX the change fee is $88 in total.

OK, green fees...

2 people per cart - $49.50 each

1 person per cart - $67.00

We have also a couple of choices as far as catering is concerned - there is a catered BBQ 1/2 way around the course for about $20 each

Have a think about catering

Special request!

As I have never played Oxley Golf Course I want to play a stroke event not an ambrose. Nothing against ambrose but it gives no indication as to how well, or badly, an individual has played....

This, in my opinion, is a good thing!

My social Club plays Oxley every year, so I have played there probably 6 times over the past 10 years. A bit hilly (with some side-hill lies to challenge the weekender or social player), lots of (pine) trees guarding the fairways on some holes so straight hitting is required.

Address is: Oxley Golf Club, 290 Boundary Road, Oxley. Google Satellite Map here. For those interested, score card is here and some photo's of some of the holes.

I don't understand why it needs to go to a vote? Give people a choice of what they want to do on the day. I want to play the golf course and count my own score for the 18 holes hitting my next shot from the position where my golf ball finished on the previous shot....

Stroke Play it is.

Prizes collected to date (by me)

2 x boxes of Golf balls :D

If anyone wants to donate prizes, I will welcome them with open hands.

Also, if anyone wants to help on the day, it would be appreciated.

I need confirmed numbers so, if you are playing, please MSG me with your Name, handicap (if any), email addy, phone number and if you need hire clubs or not on the day.

This is a social event!!! Of course there will be a competition happening but don't let that scare you off! Get out and have a game of "wack &%$" with us and get to meet some of the gang.

I am a little clearer now of my whereabouts on that weekend.I will be starting on the Sunny coast on Monday 23rd so whereever I am the week before I should finish on the Friday but not guaranteed.
Also I need reassurance that there will be at least a 1-2 other very social golfers.Although i play regularly that only entrenches all my bad habits.Normally go around 40 over par but occasionally(very)get close to breaking 80-probably when all the stars are aligned.
Certainly JohnK if you are counting I had better be in another group;)

I am certainly going to do my best to be there, and you can be assured that for me 40 over par would be a good score!

Count me as a strarter at this early stage. I would love a handicap of -33 but unfortunately I will have to settle for my AGu handicap of -13 which is likely to be -14 by the time we play. Actually it will be -14 by the time we play.

For the uneducated + handicaps are only for golfers that are better than scratch golfers and for a stroke round your + handicap is added to, not subtracted from, your scratch score to get the nett score for day. Lowest nett score wins the day!

I am a very sociable golfer. Take no notice if I laugh too much throughout the round. It is quite normal.

Normally go around 40 over par but occasionally(very)get close to breaking 80-probably when all the stars are aligned.
You do realise we will be playing 18 holes! ;)

Certainly JohnK if you are counting I had better be in another group;)
And miss all the fun of having a game of golf with me?
