That would be right! OW well behind *A is organising it. Don't think I can attend

Reading/skimming through most of that thread makes me really really excited!!

the *Mega DOs sound like a bucket load of fun and a OW Mega DO could be excellent!

Best of all, I could potentially be in the right area - depending on the dates.

Eeek, hope they release dates soon...

This could be very relevant to my interests! Looking forward to seeing more detail.

Looking at fares to DFW in Jan and not so cheap at the moment

Those might be very suitable (quite surprisingly) for me :D

Not being familiar with DOs... will i have to be a member of milepoint or FT to go? Or will there be a public sign-up kinda thing d'ya reckon?

At this stage the OW Mega Do is still asking for suggestions so I am not going to get to excited about it just yet.

Both Star Alliance Mega Do were well done, and I am sure 3 would be fun as well but I don't think there will be any Australian representatives.

If anyone is at LAX October 9th this may interest-

Folks,

Due to popular demand, we have been able to move the launch party to a weekend day.

It will be held close to LAX on October 9th at 6PM

We will hold a LAUNCH PARTY with Randy and Maya present in LA on October 11th and present an EXCITING OWmegado program live on that day. Invitation will be posted in a separate thread.

If you can't be in LA for the launch, watch the live coverage on milepoint.tv (site going live early September)

I'm interested in attending, but not sure the dates work well (towards end of school holidays generally means exorbitant travel to the US, and few award seats).

It's the Chinese New Year part that knocked me out. (January was going to be hard whatever dates they chose)

Even worse the dates they are proposing as actually the first week back at school, so probably not a major issue with availability of flights but a major PITA for those of us with kids that will be starting back at school.

Looks like OneworldMegaDo will be open for payment tonight Australia time.

Can't quite work out the costs.

I am still interested but wondering whether I should save my money for something else, I attended the StarMegaDo2 which was a lot of fun but it was a lot of travel in such a short period of time.

Schedule for the oneworld MegaDO - MegaDo

Am I correct in reading this will be at 0230 28th October AEDST?

I'm also interested in this, but wish I had known about this a few days ago before booking some flights! Will have to see if I can be bothered doing a reshuffle..

Oh well, I'm sure there will be a OWMD 2!

Opened 1am BNE time today for Launch attendees, 1pm today for MilePoint Golds, 1am tonight for everyone else. Around 36 seats booked in the 1st hour or so.

Very good AA miles from the charter IMO. Charter is over 2 days - DFW SEA (actually it's Boeing Field, but can't reall the code right now), then the next evening SEA LAX.

AA also has a sweet deal to status match existing elites in non-OW. No extra $$s, only 20000miles for EXP. Travel for the challenge must be done by 13 January.
Hyatt also has a challenge to Gold or Diamond.

Choose your seat from the seatmap, Payment via Paypal, I don't think you need an account nowadays to use Paypal. (could be wrong)
You'll need your shirt size & passport # handy when you book. Seat isn't yours until the payment is completed.

Read Randy's post yesterday & today at megado.com for better information, and as Bundy listed, there is a link from there to the schedule.

From past experience, on these mega dos, even the middle seat is definitely worth having.

I hear that many of our favourite OW airlines will have a presence ...

Any ideas on what the charter in F will get on Qantas frequent flyer.

And I wonder if AA will match my Lufthansa Senator status with the challenge, do I really need top tier on AA as well as QF.

And I am pretty sure an Australian will be at the Oneworld Mega Do, but do I want attend.

*puts up hand*

I'm booked and paid including flights to/from DFW/LAX. Going over VA and DL (bit of irony there).

During the booking process, you have to put an AA number in, there is no provision for any other OW FF number (It's a charter; EQM's and miles are provided as a special deal, there's not usually any earn on the charters).

Oh, and F is nearly full (There were no aisle seats so I went for Tommy class exit row instead).

OK, who else is coming. Gotta be more Aussies!
