Have the online activity always said Airport (MEL AIRPORT, SYD AIRPORT) and I not noticed ever before, or is this something that just changed?

And does it imply that QF will now land at places other than an airport? :D

I simply copied the activity data and pasted to a spread sheet. I've looked back and compared my spreadsheet with that not presented for flights earlier this year. Indeed, the presentation had changed.

Guess what; it's now back to that original format:
Code:
QF 188 ECONOMY 10JUL06 SYDNEY/MELBOURNE

Maybe Qantas had a new website release this weekend. With all the website issues in the last few days Qantas might have had to revert.

Maybe it's a plot to deprive those who have to travel from PER to AVV of at least 17 ff points each way:
Code:
         GC Distance QFF Points
Route MEL AVV MEL AVV

SYD 439 470 1000 1000

BNE 857 889 1000 1000

ADL 399 393 1000 1000

PER 1681 1664 1681 1664 (-17)

Well after a bleak few months and the past couple of years of SYD-DBX or SYD-BHH I finally get my first proper business class international flight next month - which sadly only secures my Qantas silver (mind you I at least have Qantas club [and yes I know there are abbrv. but I havent learnt them yet] carried over from my previous employer). Off to Singapore mid August and then the travel finally kicks in - Auckland, Tokyo and New York some time in the next six months - given my status credits are tied into an end of September period I really should have deferred my SIN trip to October ;)

Edit:

Now flying to New York (and then Pittsburg) tomorrow - I will certainly be checking this site once I have an idea of flight details to make sure I work this to the max!!!

Well this post seems like an age ago.... a lot changed in that. Firstly the Pittsburgh job was a dog - 12/14hours for two weeks straight without a day off. Then instead of flying back to Oz on 27 Jul I got shunted to New York for 3 days and then the UK for two weeks and am now flying backto Oz via singapore in Mid August.

I was meant to be flying via BKK but I need to spend the day in Singapore to do some planning for a job in the next couple of months. There is no relationship at all between the fact that I need 280 SC for gold and the original flight was only 240..... and my SIN trip has been deferred until after Sep when my SCs expire ;)

After a 6 week hiatus my travel is back on (yay). August now looks to be finalised and a lot of travel to look forward to over the next few months.

August

8 flights
30,687 flown miles (+ 2 long-distance train rides)

YTD

113 flights
255,325 flown miles
38 nights (4+ hours) spent on planes

August looks done for me. Can't see any travel next week.
