What do Qantas crew know about you?

I think it is much easier than we think for someone to work out who we are.I remember when I was active on Trip Advisor and visited a salmon farm in Tassie.Handed over my CC which had Dr.Ron ******.The fellow immediately said so you must be drron from TA.Fortunately it was a business that I had recommended.
I have also had hotels identify me from FT posts. Not sure if I have been outed from my AFF posts but have no doubt QF and VA probably have linked drron with my real identity.

The airlines know who I am. My distaste for Qantas is likely logged internally as red roo and Co know my name and ff number.
But all moot anyway. When Qantas sends you surveys that are so self depreciating, you realise they know they have massive issues.

The fact we PM Red Roo for whatever reason and (likely) provide a QFF number to Red Roo makes it very easy for QF to simply start creating a spreadsheet of QFF number vs AFF handle.

True. Makes it easier to explain how I got the nod for 4 x J > F upgrades on QF 11 Dec last year :D

Once again - thanks Red Roo ;)

I asked the CSM on Monday. He wouldn't show me "due to privacy" but he was happy to tell me what it said. Stuff about status, stuff about previous service recovery episodes, whether you're on the feedback panel. Most interesting was something about a 'net promoter' score. I suppose it's something about ability to influence others and promote QF. He didn't really explain it very clearly.

What is private about your own information. Privacy is often used so incorrectly.

Is that why the smilies are there? :p
I'm pretty sure there are a number of posters on here known to QF by more than just their handle. I doubt that it has much or any affect on service. I do wonder though if the "net promoter" thing can be influenced by online activity?
If that's the case I'd better shut up a bit more

Well a couple of the mods who might have been described as "net promoters" might now might be described as "net Detractors'.

Promoters (score 9-10) are loyal enthusiasts who will keep buying and refer others, fueling growth.
Passives (score 7-8) are satisfied but unenthusiastic customers who are vulnerable to competitive offerings.
Detractors (score 0-6) are unhappy customers who can damage your brand and impede growth through negative word-of-mouth.

There is probably a fine line between detractors and constructive criticism as well as putting forward our views -but perception equals reality.

QF Loyalty should be in no doubt that my loyalty has swung more to VA since 2011 and I'm not one to hide it. If they want more of my patronage, then they need to meet my needs.

On QF664 last Friday, CSM was pouring me a Shadowfax Shiraz 2012 IIRC, which I said I'd had before from EpiQure. He added "yes, I saw that in your profile Mr QF WP". Intriguing what they have in their iPad about us

I hope they can't see what we have bought from Woolworths last night, "Mr cmon0005, here is your J class meal, a bag of frozen peas, it was on your profile" ! :D

I always wondered when I say 'I was on flight QFxx_ on [date] in [seat]' that Red Roo or another QF rep then records this information

Only have to read one of my TRs to know who I am.
I know when I cruise my TRs are read by the Expedition team.Because they tell me!Sometimes want to know where I get my information.
Also I have been outed by a couple of businesses in Tassie after reviews on trip advisor-fortunately they were positive!

So I have no doubt QF knows about me.I know AA does.

To me, this digital world is a little scary with respect to the information collected about each of us. I've never been on Facebook and don't plan to and I'm very careful about what information I post online. I like the anonymity the internet can afford.

I noticed on a flight a while ago, the FA was confirming my name on the manifest as I had swapped to a spare row after takeoff, my abbreviation was FFPL which is platinum, there were one or two others on the list that were written as PLAT.

What is the difference between FFPL and PLAT?

That reminds me. A while ago I asked a TPAC CSM what they had for me in the iPad profile. First response was 'Oh, no (smile) privacy' .. but he opened up for me.

Somewhat disappointingly, there was almost nothing beyond my status, my current itinerary and that customer-value number thing (it was something like 7.3). It didn't have my EpiQure membership, nor my one and only major service issue in the past 5 years (major baggage snafu, about 2 years back, escalated to state management).

I offered some details like my favourite drink and wine preferences but he declined, saying 'if we put everything in about everyone, the thing would overload'. I thought that a very curious response; maybe there was a secret code there saying "Qantas critic in AFF - give up" :)

I do keep a low profile business wise, but my QFF profile is reasonably detailed ...

Also there were some FFGL and separately GOLD, maybe the GOLD is the EK Gold or OWS?

I don't specifically know what is in the comments on their RED system anymore about me... but I would presume it says "softly spoken, has a flight logbook for the flight deck to sign, Qantas supporter" :p

Hmm a PCV Value score you say :p Might have to rustle up a QF iPad someday soon to find out!

The number is how you rate QF (NPS)

Yes, comes back to me now. He said I must have responded to a survey at some point; I am on QF's survey list but it would have been a while back. The previous QFi trip I did was early this year, F in both directions to LAX; pretty sure I wouldn't have given a negative score to that :) ; then before then was ... mid last year I think.

I said I was surprised that this sort of metric apparently 'hung around' on my profile for so long - he replied wryly that it might be that 'marketing' has more influence on profiles than people realised.
