What do Qantas crew know about you?

Fri-MEL-SYD (J) welcomed on board (at entrance to plane) by first name as per my preference.

Fri-SYD-DXB (F) ditto and when I was asked if I would like a hot chocolate the FA confirmed that I preferred the largest size.
Then continuing from DXB to LHR with a new crew it was back to Mr Hvr and needing to ask my preferred beverage.

Who needs an iPad?

Boarded Qantaslink milk run flight QF2307 yesterday MKY-ROK where I would get off and then go ROK-BNE on QF2369 ~30 minutes later.

During the snack service the FA asked me why I was changing flights in ROK and if I wanted to stay on this flight instead. The were only 14-15 on the flight and I think most had off in ROK and I assume light load again to BNE. I said I had booked them that way for the SCs and QFF points and thanked her for the kind offer.

Do the printed passenger manifests contain connection information on them?

Side question: What's this about "larger size"?! You mean you can get a larger size cup/mug? The change to the smaller size J/F enamelware was a great disappointment to me.

Back to crews knowing or not I guess it's up to who wishes to use the info in the CRM database on the ipads or not. Maybe some crews/CSM's do or some don't.

I had always understood apart from things like preferences (name and drink) customer notes can also be put in by CSM's.. perhaps it's best to not speculate what some may say who knows lol. Either way I don't recall ever noticing being told my name or drink preferences was noted anyway not that I really mind either way.

What actually means much more to me personally, as well as being just a tad scary, is when a crew member recognises me (or v.v. ) from previous flights and there's a genuine recognition, rather than the see-high-status-welcome-back-autogreet type thing... but I think that's just a natural human response.. we all like to be recognised (in a good way!) and have that genuine note person to person not just "I read it on the manifest/BP/ipad"

On tonight's BNE-MEL flight I was able to inform the CSM that JessicaTam does not drink alcohol and he assured me that the information would be added to her profile on the iPad :p

On our flight from akl the CSM came around to introduce herself to us, and introduce the FA who would be looking after us. Same again on our flight from BNE. Plus I was able to ask them to update my preferred name on the iPad.

You get that as an SG?

But who were you both flying WITH?

Havn't you heard of the WP "Wash" (or is that "miasma") ... a bit different from a WP "shadow"

The CSM actually said that he likes to greet SGs as well, but doesn't usually get the chance due to the high load of WPs. However there were only three on this flight, and one P1. Plus we were in row 1 of J....

I have one word for everyone Metadata!!

I think putting phonetic spelling of people's surnames with their profile might be a good idea. Always hilarious when the CSM or cabin crew try that personalised approach then keep glancing down at their iPad or piece of paper and make a total botch up of the pronunciation. My favourite was a CSM calling the passenger next "Mr Mc-laugh-lin"

On a Qantas Flight to Darwin today. Sat in row 18. I can tell you right know there was no recognition! No special treatment! Not even a hello by name when entering into aircraft.

Soooo special however we did have Y class so I am happy about the Status credits earned also had a shadow that was bonus for packed flight!!☺️

Flew on my birthday recently. Nothing mentioned and not that I care.

It might have even been the same flight. I was in 6D or 5D. Crew doing the drinks/meal service had a sheet of paper/cardboard on tray with about 6-8 hand written names on each side and the seat numbers next to name. As far as I could tell each person on the list was addressed by name when served.

My name wasn't on the list. I can't be that important.

I always see my name on the list, but 90% of the time still get addressed as 'sir', or better yet, 'what meal would you like?'.
