What do Qantas crew know about you?

I've found them very good at not offering after my first refusal. And that is to the first FA and then the rest know. Whereas in Emirates last Wednesday night every FA in J offered me alcohol at least twice.
When I've told them outright that I don't drink alcohol, they haven't asked me again that flight. When I haven't said "I don't drink" and just selected the non alcoholic option, they've asked me again later in the flight.
If they are entering data about pax into a record for access on that pax later flights, then they should have entered "doesn't drink" and then not ask me again on the next flight.

did you ask the crew to enter your 'specifics' into your QF FF profile??? ....those types of 'requirements' need to be proactively asked by you to be added.. something along the lines of...."could you please enter into my FF profile that I don't drink ANY alcohol"

Mrscove made it to P1 and has noticed the QF staff now talk with her.
At DJs she is ignored along with anyone else who is older than Elle so she is happy.

My girl friends grew up and became Qantas "hosties". The better question is "What' DON'T they know".;)

Yes AND no... sometimes I drink way too much AND sometimes not at all, for me it is flight dependant... (e.g. if I need to sleep, if I need to think, if I need to relax, if I need to be sober on arrival..etc)

I think that both airlines have different personalities, and personally I am able to adapt to both, and they are both able to adapt to me.

QF's system has (finally) enabled them to recognise me as "no fuss, constant refill, until declined" Virgin does much the same, but I think relies on staff employment selection rather than IT, to be able to achieve it.

I have also been getting a lot more "personal sense of humour" from QF CSMs recently, some of which is very "dry", and suits me too. At Virgin, their staff always wear their personality on their sleeves, whatever it may be, but their is a "Virginesse" about it.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have a long haul QF flight in a few days (SCL-SYD) and will ask about the employment info thing - this thread has awakened my interest in that topic.

Net promoter is based on the perspective that every customer can be divided into three categories:

Promoters (score 9-10) are loyal enthusiasts who will keep buying and refer others, fueling growth.
Passives (score 7-8) are satisfied but unenthusiastic customers who are vulnerable to competitive offerings.
Detractors (score 0-6) are unhappy customers who can damage your brand and impede growth through negative word-of-mouth.

To think I was a Promoter of QFF last year and this year I am probably a detractor.

CSM showed me the iPad and my profile. Very surprised at the info available. Also gave me a good rundown of what else is on there.

I don't think Qantas has anything about me apart from flight history.

Putting people in boxes is always contentious on the basis we like to think we are individuals!

Hahah yes but as a marketer I can assure you large populations of 'individuals' are entirely predictable and that is how mass consumer goods make money :)

NPS as a term and mechanic was very 'in' for a while, essentially has been dropped by a lot of companies but really is just measured in different ways and called different things depending where you work.

I

Virgins 'system' has me down as liking being called 'buddy', not fussed about having overhead baggage space reserved for me in J and liking Doritos corn chips for a main meal ;) ;)

I therefore suspect their 'system' is as seamless as their website.

Your lucky. Virgins system has me down as ignore and hope he goes away. What i won't give for some Doritos.

¨interconnectedness of all things¨?? Sounds like a Douglas Adams novel. I wish he had of written about airline travel.

Glad someone picked up on the reference :D. It is indeed from one of the books in the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy.

Qantas can learn a lot about their QFF members simply by tracking where their points come from.

I'd happily trade profiles medhead ;) You are welcome to the Doritos J class meal and I'll settle for being left alone and having a place to put my carry on :)

...not fussed about having overhead baggage space reserved for me in J ...
In my experience the gatekeepers at the front of Virgin's aircraft (during boarding) are rather vigilant at ensuring J overhead space is used by J customers.

QF's 737s, on the other hand, have nearly all their overhead space above row 1 reserved for "crew only" use! And I often see QF customers, generally those precious metals seated in rows 4 & 5, overtly placing their bags into the space above row 3 during boarding.

More often than not, there is a bag-space-issue in J on QF, the likes of which I have never personally experienced in J on VA.

It wouldn't surprise me if they get the NPS from Qantas Advisory Panel (if you are a member of that) or other surveys you might do from time to time. They would have other ways I guess of getting it but it would be more likely from a survey you have done where it asks whether you would recommend QF to your friends etc.

I'd be inclined to know if I'd get better service if I had a high or low NPS!! (Not that I want to manipulate the service I get or anything!!!)
