What do Qantas crew know about you?

It wouldn't surprise me if they get the NPS from Qantas Advisory Panel (if you are a member of that) or other surveys you might do from time to time.

It appears that anyone can join the Qantas Advisory Panel. You just go to www.qantasadvisorypanel.com and fill in the "registration survey".

In my experience the gatekeepers at the front of Virgin's aircraft (during boarding) are rather vigilant at ensuring J overhead space is used by J customers.

Lucky you! - In my experience unfortunately the said virgin gatekeepers store their own bags in J.

Once I asked for them to be moved slightly down as I was carrying some rather important items I preferred to have closer to me. I received a lecture from the dragon for daring to speak. Said virgin dragon was duly reported.

I recently returned from a trip to Taiwan on Qantas (business class) and was going to complain about the blatant sucking up to a passenger in the same
cabin (I'm sure we weren't the only ones to hear the conversation either - and also that my meal was just warm when served. I decided against complaining for the reason that this thread refers to . But it probably won't matter anyway because after the service on this flight and the one going over, I probably won't fly with Qantas again if travelling overseas :/

I remember the iPad being used by the CSM to make a comment to me (an I commented in a thread here) sometime in the last 18 months - I know I was in whY and think I was seated next to markis10.

I definitely remember it being used on the inaugural QF1 flight on 31/3/13 and the return QF2 a couple of days later. Both times in PE and the CSM showed me the information that pertained to me and explained it.

I recall seeing it a number of times (in Dom J) being propped up in the front of the service trolley, so the CSM can greet pax. I hope they have been taking notes that I like G&T's as my first drink and red wine with all lunch or dinner meals and I like to finish with a cuppa.

To start with they must know a great deal about those that have participated in QF events like the recent forum in Sydney, or have PMed for help/resolution. But I think that RedRoo would be pretty stretched trying to connect all the dots to identify all of us.

Not hard to visit someones profile by mistake if using the app, hardly tin foil hat stuff. You can hardly expect privacy when it comes to stuff YOU put on the net

Actually not 100% true, under the Privacy Act for Australian sites you can expect that the information will only be used for the purposes as described in the Privacy Policy (and it is compulsory that there must be a policy and it must describe those uses plus a few other things). Of course most Privacy Policies get around this by having somewhat generic policies which allow a number of uses but you do have a right to privacy in that usage/disclosure may only be for purposes as disclosed.

I think you missed my point, there is no privacy expectation when you publish information yourself on the net that is open and available to all and sundry, which is what a profile is. Different if it were not something publicly published.

To be honest, they happened to visit me just after the withdrawal of ASA's online.

They would need a lot of information to actually work about your QFF profile. So they may know what city in which you live - so that might take our a couple of million. Work out whether you're make or female - couple more million....still a long way to go.

The fact we PM Red Roo for whatever reason and (likely) provide a QFF number to Red Roo makes it very easy for QF to simply start creating a spreadsheet of QFF number vs AFF handle.
