Aren't these vouchers supposed to be valid for 12 months?

I bought one tonight and it says "valid until 28 November, 2017". It's unlikely to matter, but chopping a fortnight off the deal still seems unreasonable to me.

Are you getting that date on the last screen of the voucher booking process, or is it stated on the voucher itself? I've found the date displayed onscreen is always some days short of a full year, but once the voucher is issued the date on it is correct.

At the time of posting all I had was the confirmation screen. But the vouchers have now landed and are correct!

Note that while booking validity is one year, flight validity is 353 days longer than that.

A gift voucher purchased today can be used for flight booking up to end November 2018, you just need to redeem by 12 December 2017.

Welp - a bit of a rubbish situation using residual value...

- Purchased a $2,000 voucher for 2 pax last Thursday and immediately used on a $1600 booking
- Residual value voucher hadn't arrived after 24 hours so I called QFF and was told to wait another 48 hours
- After another 48 hours and no voucher, called QFF again and CSR said "Oh, I can see them here, I'm not sure why they weren't sent to you - will send through now"
- Voucher arrives as two separate PNRs for each passenger - call again and get told this is unusual but the rep had no way to combine into one, so bookings will have to be made separately. Rep played it down and assured me they "could be linked later"
- Voucher for pax #2 worked fine online, but mine was erroring and kept prompting me to call Qantas
- Call up again and rep helps to book with my voucher, and 'links with the pax #2 booking'

I've just gone to select seats and realised as NB pax #2 is on a separate PNR they're stuck with a more limited NB seat selection. I guess the lesson to take from this is if you're issued separate vouchers for each pax to push back and request they're all put on the one voucher.

What exactly does linking the bookings do anyway? Going to give QFF a call later on today to see if they'll sit pax #2 next to me - fingers crossed..

Im my experience linking allows checkin to be done by one person for both bookings at the same time. At online checkin all pax show up.
Advanced seating will require a call to the call center to fix up. I've had this done a few times.

Haven't decided yet whether to pull the trigger, but the December Statement reminded me it was only 5pts/$. Still, will do some flying on QF in the next 12 months.

Hi All,

I currently have a credit voucher for $740 for a cancelled flight. I'm looking to make a domestic booking of $2500 for 3 people. T&Cs say only one voucher per booking - is that *all* types of vouchers or just gift vouchers?

- Can I purchase a gift voucher and use both against one booking?
- For purposes of the AMEX, am I better using one voucher per person (three bookings and then linking them) - since there is a limit of $50 per refund per transaction ... right?

Regards,

BD

If your credit voucher(different to a gift voucher slightly) is for just you, then you can't really apply it to a 3 pax booking I think - you'd be best to get a new voucher for 3 pax (it may pay to call QF and see if the credit voucher can be modified of course)

note with the credit voucher, the original fare rules of the original booking that was cancelled, so any fare you want to apply this too will need to be (most likely) HIGHER than the one you cancelled (maybe not in value, but in fare type - you need to check the original fare conditions associated with the credit voucher - if it was a fully flex/refundable fare of course this is probably not going to be an issue).

I think you may have pain with your idea to use this one.

In weird but potentially happy note I just bought a $1k voucher on my amex, and got the email saying I should get the $150 cash back which is great
then a few minutes later got ANOTHER one saying I would get the 15% cash back rebate(up to $50) for the same transaction, even though I already got that off a voucher I bought last week... so maybe this $1k voucher will only cost me $800. that would be awesome! :D

(Not everyone got that 15% end of year credit offer from Amex I know but mine was for online spend at a few vendors like Dan Murphy's, Woolies and QF... I just presumed since I earned it once I wouldn't earn it again)

does anyone know from experience if the vouchers can be used for flights marketed by QF but operated by another airline? (e.g. JQ).

I'm looking at booking flights MEL-BKK on the JQ direct flight and returning BKK-SIN (3K operated, QF code) and SIN-MEL (QF)?

Haven't seen this answered yet and I have a similar query. A friend wants to book EK flights with the QF flight numbers and use a voucher to pay for them. But cannot get a definitive response from Qantas if this is permitted.

Basically flights from MEL-CDG return.

I used a voucher to check and yes fully EK flights with QF numbers come up as selectable options.

Don't forget today is the last day to purchase a gift voucher and get the five point offer.

Yep best day to grab a couple if 2017 travel is not set in stone just yet. Thanks for the reminder.

I wasn't expecting to buy a voucher during the promo but ended up purchasing one the other day.

I would buy some more if I knew for certain I wouldn't get any bonus SC offer. I value SCs more than points.
