Qantas Gift Vouchers Promotion 5 points per dollar December 2016

All came through today ... even better was most came at about a 15-20% rebate ... also earning an additional 2 points per $ on top.
 
Anyone having issues redeeming vouchers tonight? I called but didn't want to wait any longer than the 7 minutes I waited.
 
Am I missing something? I want to use a voucher MEL-SYD Jan 3. There are a number of flights available at $130.00 but when I try to use the voucher the same flights come up as $166 minimum. Any thoughts?

Sounds like the issue that has been reported by Mattg in another thread.

'E' class airfares are not available to be booked with gift vouchers. You need to call and it can be a hassle to book those flights depending on who you get. One of my calls took 45 minutes for 3 bookings and then had to follow up anyway.

Thanks JohnK. I missed the other thread. Yes, it looks like the same issue. As I am no longer WP looks like some time on hold to QF coming up.
 
I'm not sure I've changed flights in the past that were booked using gift vouchers but I'm trying now and the Change button is greyed out.

Using chat feature now and have been advised that any changes need to be made via the call centre. :confused:
 
YMMV on this; sometimes a flight booked with a gift voucher can be changed; other times not.

I don't assume that having 'been advised' over the 'phone is the gospel. In this case it appears to be true; in others, not true.

Yes an interesting glitch. Checking back later most of my bookings are able to be changed. No idea why not possible to change some bookings.

The advice given during online chat was rubbish.

Have been trying to book BNE-SIN-BKK return on QF codeshare on EK and 3K flights for September/October.

Could not get the flights to appear using voucher. Only flights to appear are via SYD which doesn't suit as there's no award availability. The flights I wanted appear on milti-city and were just over $1000 and I have a $1000 voucher.

Called up expecting to get another rejection but once she understood what I was trying to do put me on hold and came back and said she can book the flights I want and waive the service fee. Oh and by then the airfare had dropped to around $978 so I also get residual voucher.

And to think I was contemplating booking via travel2be, travelgenio and other shonky OTAs available on Skyscanner. Overall good result for school holiday travel.
 
More gift voucher issues.

Last residual vouchers issued when I had the E class airfares issue were not usable. System thinks it is an actual booking. Tried with online chat last night and got nowhere.

Called this morning to try and get issue fixed and was able to go into voucher to book new flights but system thinks it is a cancelled booking and will refund the residual. Could not change passenger details as those fields were scrambled.

Called again and on hold long time and she finally comes back and says they will book flights for my wife and residual vouchers will be issued to her.

Hopefully no more issues. Am I the only one experiencing these issues?
