Ahh bugger I just purchased 3k in airfares last night. Any way of cancelling(sales airfare) and re booking?

Excellent! Still not as good as the 10 points per dollar from a few years ago, but not a bad way to accrue some extra points if you're planning on flying Qantas any time in the next year.

You would need to pay the cancellation fee (usually $400 for international bookings) and book new tickets. Assuming this was a single booking, that would make it $400 to earn an extra 15,000 points, costing you roughly 2.6 cents per point. I don't consider that particularly good value but YMMV.

Still thinking if i should get some again
I got 2 last year and only just finished the second one a few weeks ago. Maybe i should get only 1 this time.

What are the odds of doing DSC again? Perhaps i should hold out for that.

When this offer was 10pts/$ a couple of years ago it was a pretty good deal.

However, with AMEX doing a number of ~20% off statement credit offers this year, the ~20% in the hand is a better deal than 5 pts/$.

This was targeted though wasn't it? I don't recall receiving such an offering.

The gift card bonus is available to everyone. Including those that don't have an AMEX.

Maybe I have just been lucky but I have received a number throughout the year on my various cards.

I would think anyone who is serious about chasing points has at least one AMEX. The Platinum Edge is basically free. I am happy to send a referral if anyone wants it.

Wife and daughter may do a little extra travelling next year.

Will need to be careful I don't over commit as the Amex 20% cashback offers have been good this year.

I'm hoping for DSC too. I'm hoping to keep WP status as long as I can but need promos to help keep the cost manageable.

I'll have to look up which of my new cc requires a $50 spend on QF to generate a couple of QF passes. Anyone know off hand?

Also, of course these gift vouchers obviate the cc charge fee when making a booking.

AMEX have just released a spend $700 get $150 back QF statement credit offer which appears to be available to all AMEX customers (~21.42% off). I have been able to register all my cards.

"Excludes Gift Card purchases, Hotels bookings, Car Rental, Packages, Activities, Insurance, Qantas store, Qantas epiQure and Frequent Flyer Membership."

So not useful unless AMEX have no way to tell what was a QF gift card

Westpac requires a spend.

Quick, someone try it and let us know. ;)

A gift voucher creates an PNR, which to AMEX appears as if the transaction was made for a flight booking.
