Plenty of rooms at the CP Adelaide for $60 for two nights at present or the IC Hanoi, HI Christchurch etc etc

As an example, I spent $300 for a two night stay down the coast two months ago that earned 17K.

The Q3 promos are only usable once, that is you select one and register and that is it, I believe the two hotels means two hotels, not two chains.

Yes you'll get 60,000 PC points which will make you plat.

Think I will keep the points and maybe just pay for the upgrade if that is an option. I am planning a few trips to NZ soon, one for Christmas, and then maybe two next year, one for the RWC, so will need a plat PC m/ship for my hotel stays etc ...

I might also check with Amex Plat to see if they can upgrade me for free !!!! But im not that confident ! Dont ask you dont get .....

If you have an Amex Plat Charge card you get Gold PC complimentary. I have been upgraded twice with the gold PC card.

Upgrades as a PC Plat are a bit of a lottery, I would not waste the points to be frank, you should be able to hit Plat with stays pretty quickly regardless with the bonus codes. The main benefit now seems to be a bottle of wine and a fruit bowl.

Of course, there more IHG properties in OZ than HH ...

Ok thanks all, I have PC Gold already with my Amex plat Charge and credit card package but at this stage have not made that much use of the PC gold status. So will see what happens over the next year or so with about 3-4 stays planned.

I did get a nice box of chocoaltes at the Gold Coast CP hotel, that has been my PC gold experiecne to date, oh and the room had a nice view of the ocean which was also great.

I guess I was looking to Amex to 'give me' Plat PC m/ship due to my high standing as an amex card holder .........

I can't see that happening... According to them I am a high standing card holder and i don't get anything different!
