do they have to be qualifying nights to get the bonus points?

Only ask because I am booking a friends and family rate for IC Melbourne...$220 advanced purchase vs $165 F&F...

When you say "stack" I assume you mean add in various codes to get all those bonus points in one night/stay? Would be persuaded to part with the extra $55 if it meant a decent bonus.

Pointbreak nights? Are they readily available? ;)

I guess you are right although I don't remember ever earning that much for a 1 night stay except when the double or triple point promotions was on and I managed to get a couple of signon and welcome bonuses.

I am probably just going through a phase where hotel loyalty programs mean little to me as I travel alone and the money I save on accommodation is worth a lot more than the points I would receive for free nights.

Plenty of rooms at the CP Adelaide for $60 for two nights at present or the IC Hanoi, HI Christchurch etc etc :)

As an example, I spent $300 for a two night stay down the coast two months ago that earned 17K.

I am guessing it is PC points + pay.

Yes, points + pay values the 10000 points at USD$60, if you cancel they are credited back as points to your account so you can then use them for two nights at a pointsbreak hotel, at $30USD net cost a night.

I am really confused. Please explain your calculations.

Why would you book using points + pay and then cancel and then re-book on a pointsbreak hotel?

Why would you book using points + pay and then cancel and then re-book on a pointsbreak hotel?

Example, book HI Gold coast 5K points + $60USD, cancel, you get 15K of points credited back, you then book CP Adelaide for two nights using those 10K of points that cost you $60USD. Last year a friend of mine had 4 nights at the IC Burswood that cost him USD$30 a night!

Ahh. So there is a bug with crediting back points + pay bookings. From memory this has been around for a while and interesting that Priority Club has not fixed it.

Yes I am surprised it has not been fix, especially at it results in a significant revenue loss for them, not too many properties would make a profit out of a $30 room hire.

Well guys i have just checked out of the Crowne Plaza in Surfers after 4 nights there..

I am curious to how many of these bonuses i get and how the double bonus etc posts. Based on my last stay there i should get at least 10,000 base points just for staying there, along with 7500 in welcome back bonuses plus a 5k stay 4 nights, there is a 3 nights one in there, plus the 30k one too (I can't remember the criteria for that was). so the double on top could mean i could get over 50k of points for 4 nights! I'll let you know how I go!

You will know Monday!

The points finally posted today - well the stay did. its says a non qualifying stay! yet it was booked the same as the last stay there! I've fired off form to have this rectified. I will not be happy if i don't get points posted

If you can find a points break hotel. They seem to be becoming few and far between these days.

This does highlight how easy it is to get & retain Platinum with Priority Club.
