Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Great outcome @sydney
Persistence eventually pays off with HUACA
HOBART is so good. I called back to add another flight we had removed due to the phantom 10 sector limit and a new agent couldn't do it. Said the system wouldn't let them calculate the taxes.

!RED FLAGS!

Told her apologetically and panickingly, in that case, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH the booking and please ask Del if she is able to call me back about ticketing the flight. Del did and was able to add it in. She confirmed again that there is no limit to surface sectors within the 16 sectors.

So we now have a 3rd surface sector no worries.

Seriously unbelievable.

Suggestions for everyone in future. If you cannot get someone from Hobart, then HUACA.

The problem is even for platinums, getting Hobart is not a guarantee.

Also i should mention whilst hobart is heaps better, they're not infallible either. They couldn't solve my OWA last year and the "senior agent with 10+ years of experience" was stunned that I solved it myself by removing a domestic connection. Granted i did have probably a very convoluted route that pushed every boundary of the OWA (segment, length, connections, transit cities etc).

Fyi, I was informed and educated by a senior ticketing officer in Hobart, who was so lovely and kind when he ticketed our full itinerary, that a surface sector is also counted in the 16 sector limit. I did not realise that. So our itinerary is actually 15 sectors, with a total of 12 flights and 3 surface sectors.
Hope this helps others in future.

Halfway through a OWA and there was a minor timing change which resulted in a new itinerary being issued.
However, the new itinerary is now missing the e-ticket number - is it time to call up, or is there no new e-ticket number because the trip/itinerary has already commenced?owa2.jpg

If you've paid the taxes, they'll probably send it to you in the middle of the night. So you should get the actual eticket by the time you wake up.

Can also go into MH site and it will show you the eticket number for all legs that have an eticket right now.

I thought a minor schedule change didn’t require a ticket re-issue, it just needs to be re validated (no new ticket number)

A change to the origin or destination or airline will however need the ticket re-issued.

It was just a 5 minute schedule change which in the past has not required re-ticketing which is why I was confused why I received a new confirmation email.

The OWA has already commenced so there's been no changes to the flights or taxes.

Thanks for the info about the MH MMB - the site lists 2 e-ticket numbers but doesn't specify which one is for which leg(s). I assume the old e-ticket number is for the flights already flown and the other number (which appears to be the new e-ticket number as it's not a number that has been in my previous confirmations) is the updated number.

Maybe that's the limitation in QF's systems as the email I received was titled 'Confirmation and e-ticket flight itinerary for xx'.

No problems here. It'll show up by itself. My finnair flight timing change triggered this. Got the email 2 days ago, got this email yesterday. 5:50am saw the e ticket roll in this morning.

Also is it Finair that had the change?

Cool. Can you check in the MH site Frodo? I found that if I checked there, I can see all the legs' eticket whenever I made a change that doesn't show on Qantas yet. But yeah, this is already down and only a minor change.

If you go into manage and then receipt at the bottom. The receipt will have an eticket next to each leg.

Yup, AY99 timing changed by 5 minutes.

Thanks - says receipt not issued for the legs already flown and has 2 e-ticket numbers next to the legs yet to be flown. Two is better than 0 I guess.
