Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Halfway through a OWA and there was a minor timing change which resulted in a new itinerary being issued.
However, the new itinerary is now missing the e-ticket number - is it time to call up, or is there no new e-ticket number because the trip/itinerary has already commenced?owa2.jpg

If you've paid the taxes, they'll probably send it to you in the middle of the night. So you should get the actual eticket by the time you wake up.

Can also go into MH site and it will show you the eticket number for all legs that have an eticket right now.

I thought a minor schedule change didn’t require a ticket re-issue, it just needs to be re validated (no new ticket number)

A change to the origin or destination or airline will however need the ticket re-issued.

It was just a 5 minute schedule change which in the past has not required re-ticketing which is why I was confused why I received a new confirmation email.

The OWA has already commenced so there's been no changes to the flights or taxes.

Thanks for the info about the MH MMB - the site lists 2 e-ticket numbers but doesn't specify which one is for which leg(s). I assume the old e-ticket number is for the flights already flown and the other number (which appears to be the new e-ticket number as it's not a number that has been in my previous confirmations) is the updated number.

Maybe that's the limitation in QF's systems as the email I received was titled 'Confirmation and e-ticket flight itinerary for xx'.

No problems here. It'll show up by itself. My finnair flight timing change triggered this. Got the email 2 days ago, got this email yesterday. 5:50am saw the e ticket roll in this morning.

Also is it Finair that had the change?

Cool. Can you check in the MH site Frodo? I found that if I checked there, I can see all the legs' eticket whenever I made a change that doesn't show on Qantas yet. But yeah, this is already down and only a minor change.

If you go into manage and then receipt at the bottom. The receipt will have an eticket next to each leg.

Yup, AY99 timing changed by 5 minutes.

Thanks - says receipt not issued for the legs already flown and has 2 e-ticket numbers next to the legs yet to be flown. Two is better than 0 I guess.

Yeh ay99 for me too.

I got a question for those who had to pay in a different currency after modifying an existing booking.

After the modification do we only just pay the additional amount of taxes from the added segment or we pay the full tax and get a refund of the previous charge?

So I originally paid $384 AUD for my initial booking. Then I modified it and added a segment, then I got charged in a different currency ¥2046 CNY (~441 AUD).

Was I meant to get a refund of the original $384 AUD?

Depends what you added in terms of taxes fees and charges. But I have only ever been charged the incremental fees, not the whole lot and had to wait for a refund.

This happened to me for the first time a few weeks ago. It didn't register with me until after the call though my booking was always in HKD. Anyway, the transaction was pending on my credit card but no points were deducted and no updated eTicket issued though I could see the flight under my bookings. Eventually the pending transaction dropped off and I was not charged. I wish I gone on to the Finnair site to see if an updated eTicket ever existed.

A week later, I saw a much better option so rang again to change. Did not mention anything other than I wanted to change the original flight which they did with no problems. This time was only charged an additional amount, points deducted and eTicket all came through immediately and the credit card payment was processed a couple of days later.

Are you sure you have a valid booking? I'm not sure I ever really did.

So originally no, I didn't but I chased it up and it's now officially. I've got the new ticketing number and the pending taxes on my bank account has been finalised with the money taken out, also the points deducted from my Qantas account.

Ok so seems like it's just incremental taxes charged after modification each time.

Tax du jour.
When I made a change, I was refunded the difference in taxes. Then I made another change and was charged a bit more taxes. So I think it just depends how much the taxes/fees are and they just charge or refund the difference.

Yes. The taxes are recalculated on the day of the change. I’ve had a refund in the past for a JL flight change.

Hi everyone,

Can you experts please check this itinerary and just confirm it meets the OWA requirements. I have been playing around with options for 12months and I am at the stage where I can’t see for looking now!

SIN to Helsinki then Rome- stop one
Rome back to Helsinki then Singapore then onto Darwin and Cairns stop two
Cairns to Fiji stop 3
Fiji to Vancouver stop 4
San fran to fiji and to cairns stop 5 and end.

Using Finnair, Fiji airways and Qantas.

I have been doing a few dummy runs but havnt managed to get all flights in one booking to check whether it caps out in the points.

Plan on trying to get all of the booking done prior to the Aug 5 changes and then just change some of the later flights after Aug 5th.

Any advice, feedback much appreciated.

Thank you
Sarah

Can't return to Singapore mid trip and I'm not sure you can book Fiji Airways as yet. Also, can't have two stopovers in Cairns

Can't return to Singapore on your return from rome > Helsinki. .
Fiji airways is not on Qantas' OWA yet so you can't use them just yet (eventually it would be possible but no timeline on when yet).
