Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

My preference is CX when it's not too busy, but I suspect most here would go for EK or QR.
My preference would be EK. I'm not a fan of the new CX lounge. Too many staff wandering around.

I've been in the Miracle lounge opposite G2 twice in past month as I hardly fly QF out of BKK. Basic lounge and I feel comfortable.

There have been lounge changes at CPH that are not yet reflected on OW website.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but here’s what’s current:

The Aspire Lounge remains the same. It’s priority pass operated and also available to Diners Club Members. As a OW Sapphire (+1) or travelling OW J you have access.

It offered soup, sliced ham/salami, cheese, biscuits. Entry level wine and limited spirits were available. No barista, just an auto coffee machine.

“The Apartment” is opposite Aspire and seems to be a J lounge. It’s a turn left if in J turn right if in Y with status type arrangement... but is also PP operated and used by non-OW airlines.

Selection was the same as aspire with an addition hot dish (meatballs for my visit) and a slightly larger selection of sandwiches. The wine was far better and there was a greater choice of spirits. Auto-Machine coffee.

The new option appears to be the”Atelier Relaxium” which is located near the A gates. It’s brightly coloured an furnished like an Ibis Hotel’s in Australia:eek:.

It has the best food offering of the lot with two or three curry/stir fry dishes served in jars (it’s trendy apparently). You could also order a noodle box.

Wine was as for aspire - so entry level. But spirits were as for the Apartment. Sandwiches/cheese were much the same as for the Apartment. Coffee also via an auto-machine.

Pro tip: Eat at the Atelier Relaxium then head for the Apartment for a drink.

Give Aspire a miss... the exception would be if travelling Y but with status in which case Aspire is on par with the lower status part of the Apartment.

QF FLounge access

Passenger 1: WP with QF but travelling MH in J
Passenger 2: travelling CX in J

P1 has access to QF Flounge (SYD T1)
P2 has access to QF JLounge (SYD T2)

Can P1 guest P2 in?

I think the correct interpretation is that P1 is a WP with QF travelling on a OW operated and marketed flight and guest must be also on same flight . Rather than P1 is a OWE...

Since, other than for status and lounge, QF is not involved, First Lounge access is as an Emerald and oneworld rules apply.

Oneworld rules are this for Emerald:
Next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.#

One guest allowed and must be travelling on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.#

# A oneworld marketed flight refers to a flight with a oneworld flight number, eg QF1 or AA222. A oneworld operated flight refers to the actual aircraft or 'metal' on which you fly, eg Finnair aircraft. Excludes oneworld connect partner flights.

That’s the problem. I’ve had a guest told to go to JLounge because they interpreted via QFWP (specifically they said I was still a QFWP travelling on OW flight) and on another occasion let in because they interpreted via OWE.

In reality, the "must be travelling with" provision is relevant only for access when not flying oneword (e.g. Emirates, Jetstar) but this has become coughised by lounge agents and erroneously applied to QF Elites flying QF.

In both situations you were both and the most beneficial rule needs to be applied (Oneworld).

The agent was wrong in the first case, but of course that's no help at the time.

Clueless with these.
Emerald one world.
1. Travelling AA flight from Oakland. Return AA flight from Phoenix (booked through AA)
2. Alaska Airlines from Anchorage to Honolulu (booked through Alaska Air)
3. Jetstar J ;) Honolulu on QF award deal.

Lounge access
AA: Emerald gets you into AA Flagship irrespective of cabin class. 1 guest. However no Flagship at your airports - so just the bog standard Admirals lounge
AS: need to be flying in ADFP fare buckets. No guests unless a lounge member
JQ: need J + max fare bundle. Not sure if QF Jward includes this. QF JLounge. No guests. Open 3 hrs prior to JQ departure.

No bundle required for QF lounge in HNL as the pax is platinum.

So it’s closes after the 1925hr SQ208 departs and reopens at 2205 before the 0105hr SQ 218?

What are the alternatives until 2205hrs/
(SQ J award no status on *A)
I don’t read it as that at all. My understanding is that it opens 3 hours before first departure and closes at final departure. So I would assume approximately 0730 until 0100?

Yes. NZ is your friend, albeit with a limited offering compared to before their own flights.

No, they close between departures

No, they close between departures
Agreed.

I did this a year ago and whilst I was able to enter the SQ lounge 5 hours before departure I had to head to the NZ lounge for a while until T-3 when it reopened.

WP going to New Zealand on Jetstar. I know I will have access to the QF Flounge, but I want to go earlier than 3 hours before the flight. Jetstar livechat told me that I can't do online checkin because it is an international flight. Sydney airport check in desk only opens 3 hours before the flight. Can anyone think of a way I can go in earlier than 3 hours?

Many thanks.
