Alas and alack, while the site itself appears to be working (for the moment) my Hilton BNE points are nowehere to be seen....Anyone had them post yet, or are we still waiting?
Hi Mark,
Mine have not posted as yet...when I tried to log a missing stay request on the Hilton's website yesterday (sick of having to remember to make sure the points post:evil:), it wouldn't let me as it said I had to wait at least 3 weeks from the time of checkout:( to post the request. I vaguely remember the guy who took us on the Hilton Bne tour said something about that they do monthly sweeps for the points at their hotel, and at the time thought to myself that can't be right...:!:

My points from a stay in ADL Hilton on 2 May only posted this week...

At least I am now able to access the page now without having to change anything...however I wonder for how long??

I think Hilton should get someone to read that page carefully. The introductory blurb on the page says this:

and approximately two weeks from a hotel outside of North America, for a stay to appear in your HHonors account. If your stay has not posted within these time frames, please fill out the information below and click Submit

Note: Two weeks.

Later on it says

It takes 2-3 weeks for a stay to post to your account. Please continue only if your Check-Out Date occurred prior to three weeks ago

I have found HH to be helpful with posting missing stays early if there is a reason - eg. I faxed through my stay to HH when I needed posting (to make Silver) and it appeared overnight.

I was then missing a stay that would make me Silver-Gold, so I called HH. They posted my stay over the phone and pushed through the changes in the system. I was Gold around an hour later.

I have had them add a missing stay over the phone without any problems. They just wanted to know the hotel name, dates of stay, what type of credit card was used and the folio amount. I think the agent had some way of checking on-line that my details were accurate and the entry appeared almost immediately in my account.

No sign of them yet. Will give them the three weeks, and get onto Hilton.

The Hilton website has been working a treat. Those frustrating error messages are no longer evident and gone are the problems of page images and text not loading properley.

Recevied the following email a number of days ago (as many others would have also received):

Our teams have been busy at work trying to correct this matter on behalf of
our customers. I was advised today, that as of Friday, June 16, 2006 this
should no long be a challenge. Would you please check to see if the issue
has been resolved with your access?
Good to see the situation has been resolved...

The site itself has been working well of late, so it does look like they have resolved those problems.

They seem to have some other strangeness going on (My points preference has changed, my next booking turned into a smoking room request, etc.)

I just received my Hilton Honors membership I was promised at BNE Hilton last month. When I get a chance I will log in and see if my points for OzFest III have posted!

Has anyone's QF FF points posted from the Hilton stay during OzFest III? I don't even have a receipt when I checked-out as it was all prepaid. Would the e-mail confirming the prepaid rate and payment suffice?

Typically they just need enough info to identify the stay. So the dates, confirmation #, room rate and amount paid should be enough.

OK.

So has anyone received their QF FF points for the BNE Hilton stay during OzFest III? Hilton is normally very prompt with posting FF points.

Mine have not, and I don't think they are going to post without intervention. The three weeks is almost up, and then the missing stay request will go in.

If anyone still has not removed the changes that they made to their hosts file to make the HH site work correctly during the outage, please remove them asap. This is important because the workaround is no longer needed, and leaving the workaround in place could break at any stage due to server work/changes at Hilton.

To remove:

Assuming you're using Microsoft Windows - in particular Windows Xp:

Click on the Start button.

Run.

type in the following:

notepad %windir%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

Should launch Notepad with a file called hosts.

Scroll down to the bottom of the file.

Remove the following Line:

206.165.29.88 www.hiltonhhonors.com

File..Exit. Yes you want to save.

Test that the Hilton website works for you.

A wise philospher once said - 'It's not easy being green'. But it looks like greenness has been bestowed upon you.

Still not posted so I have lodged a request today with QF to credit the FF points.

I submitted my claim the other day as well. Did it online, so not sure how long they take to appear, but nothing there yet.
