Hilton Honors Site driving me mad

This has been my experience as well; although when the hotels nearly full and there's only 2 rooms left it does not leave much flexibility.

After one almost near miss in my immediate post silver period with a previously existing booking (similar to that described above), I contacted each Hilton I had existing reservations with and advised them of my newly minted Gold VIP status. Worked a charm.

My next visit to MEL looks like being Sat 9 Sep, and while I have no hotel booking as yet, somehow I think the football is going to influence things!

Ok, one more vagurary, what time did you check in? Late check-ins sometimes lose an assigned upgrade due to lay coming clients being happy to pay premium rates.

Other than that, you may have simply lost the "raffle" that night.

With the AFL footy being the in first week of the finals it really depends on when and where games are scheduled. With the NRL, Melbourne Storm will be playing on the Sunday.

I do like your upgrade chances... Last year I ended up in an executive corner room on prelim. final Friday night.
