Vinomofo Wine Deals

would be great to know if this is a good one or not :)
Reshcke RSR.

Source of much discussion on the actual year of this wine.

Many including myself, don't trust the stated vintage.

I personally wouldn't buy at $25. In my opinion this is a sub $10 wine.

Sub $10 is a bit harsh. Vintage aside I quite enjoy it as a bolder style.
Ok... lets make it a sub$13 bucker and one you'd never want to buy again. Sub $15 then? We do inhabit different taste worlds but I think punters on this forum are no different in their appreciation of a bargain.
But when the bargain turns into a waste of time we get a bit disgruntled. I have yet to call the Fo up to return the 5 2019 Jilyara Cabs that left me totally underwhelmed. I am with Anzac paul, it's a sub ten bucker threshold as you can get some amazing stuff thru Grays etc at under a tenner. Finding them is about the journey though and not the destination. My only four or five Fo reds that were over the alleged $60 retail all turned out as one bottle samplers - luckily !

Hey beefarmer.. I have had another perfectly quaffable bottle of the "Rhino swill" you are sending back.. r u sure you just din't have a bad bottle ?

I thought it was the RSR and not the Bull Trader that was questionable vintage-wise?

Anyway, GWD had the Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Shiraz 2013 (2013 vintage?) quite a while ago and tried a bottle via a friend who refuses to buy from anyone else BUT GWD  and it was OK, I mean I'm not going to gild this particular lily but it got the job done. Haven't tried the Dry Bore but keeping an open mind...

It was OK, but by definition not very good and certainly not great.....Now on the OK scale, what wouldya give it when 3 is barely OK OK yet 9 is OK OK. I don't do mediocrity well OK as I'm binary. A wine is good or it ain't. Binary. Some are feminine and some are masculine. Binary.
But what about the pinot though? Hmm. I haven't worked them out yet.

@beefarmer Pinot seems gender-fluid to me but Shiraz would appear to be 100% hairy-chested heteronormative😮
(not so sure about Syrah though)...

Wouldn't get out of bed for anything less than a 6 or 7 but for a 9 I'd take them for a long romantic walk through the countryside before dropping to my knee and proposing marriage...

Is that a pun or Freudian slip re W&D's recent misfortune?😉

A harsh reality of life SD, none were smashed in the colloquial sense but a couple might have rolled hither and yon to be discovered at a later date (if you catch my drift)😉

Probably my favourite expression which I do use reasonably often is 'You Don't Get A Second Chance At A First Impression" and when you talk about a seventy five bucker, it had better be better than quaffable. It to me has to be a Bruce McAvaney. Speshial. The anxiety for me isn't worth the wine benefit even if I drop three valiums before i start. Maybe that's where the hangovers come from. The credit policy of the Fo is and always has been stupendous and I an others thank them for it. What i will do is have the cash credit sit in my account so in the future when a consensus occurs on a beauty, then i will dive in faster than Jim Courier did into the Yarra after winning a couple of Aussie tennis opens.
