Vinomofo Wine Deals

Is VM still using Nexday for their deliveries?

I used to be able to grab the order number and track it on Nexday site but the last two orders have not been recognised

I'm interested in this as well. My Amelia Park order from last Tuesday was expected to arrive yesterday - it hasn't been registered at Nexday and the VM site still says "in transit".

Mmmm, after I boomed

Well, it is a 'black label' where you theoretically don't know what you're getting until it turns up on your door.

In any case, doesn't it really matter what label's on the outside? If it does, maybe that Allegiance wine that one a gold for 'best wine label' at the Cairns wine show is for you? :) Otherwise, I'd concentrate more on what's in the bottle :)

Yes AC, you are correct on all points.

I think my post has been taken in a way other then it was meant, It was simply in response to the export label being revealed - I wasn't disagreeing, just stating I had boomed before the reveal.

Sorry for inadvertently pressing your buttons

Was thinking the exact same thing earlier this week when I opened a bottle of this:

K1 Tzimmukin 2010 - Wines by Geoff Hardy

This was a VM purchase I made at least 3 years ago. I recall it being around $60 a bottle. It was an outstanding wine and a genuine bargain. Wish I'd bought a lot more at that price. I doubt I'll be saying the same about anything I've purchased from VM within the last year.

The only one that does stick out to me in the last year was the Giant Steps Sexton Merlot '14. That was a true bargain at less than $14 per bottle. Been to their cellar door several times, and they have some really nice single vineyard pinots, but I'd take this Merlot over all of their reds.

I spoke to VM last night, apparently they still do use Nexday but have changed their system so you now have to use the consignment number to track the order, not the order number. Only issue is they don't send you the consignment number.

I used to use the tracking to alert a staff member if I wasn't going to be in the office when it was delivered. Hopefully they fix it up.

So anyone tried the Amelia cab merlot yet and able to report back?

Not sure what vintage mof_ are selling. But I recently tried the AP Cab Merlot 14 and really liked it. Giving a Wozza 93, I concluded it was a super elegant Margaret River take on the Bordeaux Blend: http://www.vivino.com/users/warren-dav/reviews/61382457.

Hope that helps a bit. Even if a different vintage. Cheers, Wozza

Will open a bottle tonight and see what happens. The last Amelia needed hours of breathing before it opens up so I'll probably let it sit overnight and report back tomorrow.

Opened last night

Amelia was wearing new clothes that perhaps are not as pretty, but it's whats inside that counts right?

Needs lots of breathing space. As good as the 13 IMO. I've left half a bottle to sample tonight, will probably go back for another case today.

Yes, that's excellent news. It's a BOOM from me. Loved the 2013, but it is a wine that really needs time in the cellar to really shows its best.
I remember the 13 being a bit disappointing compared to the 12. Might have to revisit and open it 24 hours before consumption.
