Vinomofo Wine Deals

For those who've been looking for some, Vinomofo has the 2010 St Henri. Not a very good price though IMO.

Agree, it is a poor price. I notice its sold out though. I was in Melbourne 2 weeks ago and managed to secure some for $70 a bottle. Limit of 2 though. Dan Murphy's price is around $80 a bottle.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Oh actually that's it! I actually really enjoyed the last case for an everyday drop.

Got this delivered on Monday morning and you were spot on! Retailing at Dan's for $22 a bottle so pretty happy with just over $6 a bottle! Haven't had a chance to drink it yet but will report back when I have.

That cheap pinot arrived yesterday. Sixfootsix by Austin. Not tried it yet.

Really??? This one:
You've had this at a restaurant and if you haven't, you've bought it from a bottle shop and if you've not purchased this before, you have certainly been given a bottle as a gift, because this is a well known wine and I know that you know this producer.

Hmmm - I have heard of Austin wines, but think they may have taken the description a bit far....

Think so, the too good to be true $7.50/bottle one. It wouldn't be the first time VM has big noted their offerings. My personal favourite is the way they completely destroy 2011 wines in their VinoMofo TV snippets and then give them rave reviews in the tasting notes. :)

hahaha, perhaps they meant to say that you will be giving several bottles away as gifts? :p :p

Black market is always risky - you never quite know what is coming. Some are "easy" to work out, but your guess is never guaranteed.

There is always the risk that you get something average, taste 1 or 2 bottles and don't like it. But by that stage you're stuck with a case. I'm not sure how their happiness guarantee works in this regard. Can you send back 11 bottles?

I haven't tasted the sixfootsix, so will reserve judgement on it.

I've sent a case of Black Market back before (5 remaining bottles). No problems with the refund. Free return postage too.

Good to know. I will keep that in mind.

Really? Hmmm... I might have to do the same with a case of the Hewitson GSM and the Kaesler Stonehorse. Wasn't a fan at all.

Wow....they've really gone overboard this time. I've never even heard of it. Mine hasn't arrived yet (marked as shipped though, so may be sitting at my front door).

I'm not too fussed as there can't be too much regret when you only pay $7.50 (less with my $20 voucher) and I have plenty of old uni mates who wouldn't know the difference between a Bordeaux and a Balsamic.

Austins is a pretty good Geelong based winery. Six Foot Six is their lower priced label. Six Foot Six Pinot retails at Dan's for $16-17. Whilst I'm not a fan of Pinot Noir, I've tried this one and it was reasonable (It was some time ago). It's at the lighter end of the spectrum. Whilst I think their description is taking a fair amount of creative licence, I wouldn't be complaining for $7.50!

Good to know!

Interestingly, when I recently read in this thread about them having Rogers & Rufus Rose, I googled it and their website allowed me to opt to be notified when it came back into stock, which they did, even though it came back as a black market deal, so I knew exactly what I was buying!

I love my pinots and Sixfootsix pinot noir is pretty decent as far as pinots in the $15-20 price range go. It's somewhat of a staple by the glass offering at a mid/low range restaurant. A little disappointed that I can't boast about getting an unbelievable bargain with the arrival of something unexpectedly amazing (something like Ninth Island or the aforementioned Coldstream Hills), but for ~$6.52 a bottle (after applying free credit and delivery fee) it's a great price for an everyday quaffer. :)

What are the credits people are referring to? $25 credit for friend referral or something else?

They have the Atlas 32, which I bought when they offered it a few weeks back, fair value at the asking price is my summary.. :)

The purported RRP for Coldstream Hills pinot noir seems rather inflated. I can usually get Coldstream hills for ~$26-27.

anyone know what the coonawarra cabernet 2010 is?

deceptive marketing :(

Edit: Could be Coldstream Hills? They have had that on there before and it seems to marry up.
