Vinomofo Wine Deals

99 Minute Sale just went up (aka stocktake) for those targeted. Prices reduced... apparently! I see the Billich there which I believe was popular. Chalambar 2014 is there for $16.90.

W&D yes, GSM 2014 is super peppery and nothing like previous vintages. Not for me.

I'd say Cab Blend 2013 is more refined than the GSM 2013. Both good.

I bought the Billich last Friday at $18.5 with free shipping, now is $17.5 with $9 shipping, not any gain for me.

Yes the 99 minute doomsday clock hasn't resulted in any panic buying from me either, it feels a bit like same old same old...Thanks for elucidating on the 2014 GSM. I must say I'm really curious to crack the seal on one of my purchases from CM (I've got three shipments on their way, so something good is en route I hope).

It feels like they have released 3 vintages in 1 year!

Only recently finished the 13's and moved onto the 14s - any one tried the 15's as yet?

Given its high scores im not surprised the "14 has flown off the shelves as its been on offer virtually everywhere for less than $17 a bottle. I must say I also can't believe that CM gave it 95 given his lower scores for many other IMO better wines....

The old Thistledown two roads....on the label from memory says something like " we travelled to the fork in the road and took the road less travelled ".

I bought this one last year, a case, and only had one bottle. From memory, I didn't mind it at all and I did inquire from one of these MV's as to what they are trying to do with the style. It did have great fruit from memory. I did get a reply quickly and that made me buy the case, but I can't remember the context exactly. I'd go 4 botts though.

Hi all, new to Vinomofo and this site but enjoying the thrill of a surprise purchase!

Anyone care to share their thoughts on the Art of War shiraz and premium shiraz? I'm usually a big fan of Teusner's stuff so am tempted! TIA.

I wasn't thrilled with the Art of War. If you like Kimmy Teusner's wines then I personally prefer the Bilmore & Wark Family offerings - both can be found for a similar price to the Art of War. The General on the other hand... the 2012 was a cracker of a wine & great buying in my opinion. 2014 is a very good drop too but not quite in the same league as the '12, so not in my 'must stock up on' category considering the vast amount of options you have at this price point. You can do much worse than a case of Generals though so if you're interested then have a crack & consider splitting a case with mates if you want to minimise risk.

I'm inclined to agree. I love Kim T's stuff as a rule of thumb but found the Art of War really restrained. The issue with the VM solo labels is, they make up their own value for the wine, I personally wouldn't pay that much for it in future, especially when there are other cracker deals available at VM and elsewhere. That being said, it isn't a bad wine by any stretch, but there are tons out there in a similar price point, that are stunning value

The '12 General is really good, my remaining 5 bottles were put aside for another 3 years before I will try another.

The main one I think was good value was the 2012 Gusto Mama.

The rest of their "private label" has been a little disappointing at the price points. Nothing "wrong", just not as great value as they would have you believe.

Didn't notice that. What's happening?
I better open and taste my $18.50 purchase, or buy more to "average the price" as in shares. :D

Please report after tasting as my $18.5 bottles are expected to be delivered this Friday! :(
At this moment just crack open bottle 0936/1800.
Dark crimson red. Very nice aroma.
Smooth tannin, very easy drinking. Compared to Allegiance Artisan Shiraz($20) which I am currently drinking, the Billich is much much better.
