Vinomofo Wine Deals

Very surprised that Vinomofo hasn't advertised that Blue Poles 'Allouran' Merlot Blend 2011 $25/bt was rated 95pts by Gary Walsh on Winefront - the best yet (past vintages were 94pts) - it's perhaps considered the best value Margaret River red for those in the know, but don't forget their shiraz :)

Blue Poles nails the art of Merlot

(12pk $23.75/bt + Delivery @ Bonds Corner)

Local wine bar/retail in Moonee Ponds had this by the glass recently - a substantial wine and good value.

Thanks for the tip off Qaz did not spot it myself; very pleased you did and now BOOM from me. Cheers

There I was passing the valley cellar door this arvo thinking what's this place like? Couldnt drop in but are the wines reasonably priced Pedro?

It wasn't The Valley that had it - twas Puckle St Wine Store, a new place.

But to answer your question - yes, very reasonable. Half a dozen whites and reds by the glass, all under $10, plus a couple of reserve reds around $12-15. They were doing an old Yarra Yering the other week. Pick a bottle off the shelf and pay $10 corkage. Obviously the higher you go, the better the bargain. They have a reserve list of ooh-aah stuff for show offs, same $10 corkage. Good craft beer and cider selection. Good pizzas or BYO food from local restaurants. It has been a screaming success.

Anyone received their 6 foot 6 Shiraz and tried it? Would love to hear some feedback.

I have received mine, but I'm on night shift this week and can't drink it until the weekend, sorry. :( (also I have two bottles of red open in the fridge already that I have to get through before they go off)

they must have dropped it to price-beat [post=1504720]bonds corner's $23.75[/post] - time to buy unless [post=1411623]you stocked up when past vintages were $10/$11[/post] :)

Seriously tempted by this. Need to find a colleague to take three though, 6 more Cabernet arriving could cause a serious rift regarding my 'buying wine ban'. Could easily sneak three home in my bag though....

I've recently adopted the Parcel Collect principal, I feel a bit devious doing it but it will hopefully bring down my increasingly frequent Nexday drop-offs at chez W&D....

My local Dan's also only has the 2008 Coleraine. Is it worth the approx $65pb after discounts?

Looks like I made the same mistake. I ordered the "2014" Coleraine online for $77.99 because I have never had a 100 pointer before (regardless of how generous) and the first thing they sent me was the Awatea which is $36 on their web site. When I rang and explained the issue they kindly sent someone from a store to my house with a replacement. What great service i thought, until I looked and saw they had given me the 2011. From what I have read on reviews the order of preference for the last four vintages is 2014, 2013, 2010, 2011.

Does anyone have a view, is the 2011 worth $80?

FO Hart of the Barossa " special value " = now with screwcap. Cheers

I ordered after they listed it again as under screwcap - cork-sealed turned up today. At least one other person had the same result.
I've asked them to take it back and send screwcapped versions if they actually have it or credit my account otherwise.

I'll try one to see what it's like and as consolation for the aggravation.
