Vinomofo Wine Deals

Beat me to it, I'm hoping it isn't going to be a cul-de-sac!

It is very much a numbers game and the dice are rolling BF!
Possibly a treasure goal kicked for the treasure island wonderkind. And free Damn freight too. That's how to increase VM sales, isn't it andre! New Zealand is coming on faster than a bridesmaid at a country wedding as well. Plenty more Otago pinots for the aficionados.ole.

Had my six pack of the Handpicked Collection Tassie Pinot Noir delivered and cracked one last night. At just $30 a bottle from VM It didn't disappoint at all. Delicate with a gamey complexity and enough summer fruits to provide great balance. Enjoyed it more than the '13 Seppelt Drumborg Pinot noir hat I also bought recently as this wine is a bot more balanced. Would recommend this if it pops up again and may buy more myself.

it's back with free delivery :)

They're not offering the free freight deal on the Haselgrove as far I can see, the buggers! does that mean they've cut things so finely that there's not enough margin to discount it further-I'm guessing that must be so...

Just a note in case anyone's interested in Sparklings.

On the weekend, I drank a bottle of the Bisou Bisou that came in the sparkling mixed case from earlier this year. It confirmed my suspicions that last year's vintage is flawed. I've had a couple of them now, and there's a musty aftertaste, that while not quite bad enough to stop me from drinking it, it isn't a flavour I expect or want in a sparkling. I guess I should be thankful it's not excessively acidic, but I still will not be buying it again. Two years ago, we drank cartons of the stuff and served it at parties, but not anymore. I also sent back a case of the Nua prosecco for similar reasons late last year - it had a taint I could barely identify, but enough to make me unable to actually drink more than a glass of the stuff. I opened two bottles and sent the rest back.

The Santa and d'Sas Prosecco that came in that mixed case was brilliant though and I'm hoping it will come back to the 'Fo soon.

Thank you for your notes on sparklings so that we are all aware. Last year we had a case from Chain of Ponds from the FO and it too was tainted and undrinkable. Cheers

We drank our way through a couple of cases of the Bisou Bisou last year and thought it was okay. I certainly didn't pick up any musty aftertastes. We did notice however that there was quite a bit of bottle-to-bottle variability. Some bottles were nicely balanced while some tasted a little unbalanced. Maybe there is just a bit of variability in the batches produced. I agree about the Nua Prosecco, I didn't enjoy it at all, but I only had the one bottle and it may just be that variety and style I'm adverse to.

Thats very odd...I had a mixed case just before Christmas that had the Bisou in it and thought it was OK (from memory, it was Christmas though so everything tastes better) the Nua my wife really enjoyed so bought another case, and the Santa and d'Sas ended up in the sink.

Got this last time: https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-secret-deal-shiraz-viognier-2014/ - Willunga 100 - nice wine, good body, good balance of flavours, a keeper for me.

Just BOOMed on this one today, free shipping pushed me over the line. I love a good shiraz viognier, so I'm looking forward to it.

DB, you are looking very professional with the new picture. Anything to do with a milestone? Or have we all missed the chance to raise a glass , a hunter valley of course! ?

Just pop it in your cart anyway. It doesn't need to be "part of the sale" to get the free shipping. Once they put free shipping deals on it applies site wide.

They should probably do one of their "across the whole site" announcements because it reads like they're only referring to the wines they've linked to (but appreciate your heads-up!)

Couldn't hold back on the Haselgrove Cul Tor although the descriptions of the Willunga 100 nearly swayed me, I'll certainly be curious to dip into it when it arrives (and offer up my unbiased and unexpurgated review)...as always

More like very variable as DB says above. Now I'm wondering if it is safe to order any sparkling from the Fo. A pity as I was trying to work out what the black market sparkling is and decide whether to order it.

I was using a Mr Potato Head avatar, but I was afraid too many people would recognise me, so I switched to this more disguised picture.

The milestone was a couple of month ago, July 4 to be precise. Yes, we did travel up to the Hunter Valley and celebrated with a lovely degustation dinner at Muse. Then onto New Caledonia to enjoy some sunshine and some lovely french wine. Sadly my family doesn't share my wine obsession, so the Hunter Valley trip was quite restrained. We're heading back this weekend to fill up the boot with some more delectable 2014 reds.
