Vinomofo Wine Deals

My phone is not putting notes under where they should be, but chris75, go out and buy an epsilon shiraz for twenty bucks and you will have no doubt that it could retail for 60. I am disillusioned with the fo,s latest offerings and put my reputation (it's not a lot) on the line with that one. Same price point. Others will give you blinders from elsewhere....single botts and easy to get to help you out....hope this concept helps you.

Thanks Beefarmer,

I will give the Epsilon a try, I posted because I like to get a bargain (hey, who doesnt,)....and the surprise when it arrives (whether it was what I thought it would be...or not) and I thought that if the wines were identified, that it may also help others. Cheers

Just trying the 2014 Fox & Hounds Shiraz Cab Merlot ... Not enjoying it! Likely to send it back. Don't know whether it's because I enjoyed the straight Shiraz last year and this is a blend, but as others have mentioned, it's a bit thin.

I think the 2013 Biodynamic Shiraz is actually Brackenwood. (Take a look at the winery description on the VM listing and the one on the Brackenwood website and see if you don't come to the same conclusion.)

94pt Snowy Mountain Shiraz previously ID'd by AC as Coppabella, ditto the 93pt Hilltops cab sav. There was some discussion about it a while back - the label is associated with Moppity.

On another note, I see something that I think is new, a Hawkes Bay 2011 Syrah:

My guess is Hopes Grove Syrah 2011 based on the tasting notes that their buyer seems to desperately hope we will find according to their blurb. Anyone familiar with it?

Everything seems to have been answered - I'm feeling redundant :) - except the Coonawarra cab $24 -> $8.90 which I thnk is the Common Ground. Some discussion on this from post #9955 onwards. I think Rocket09 bought a case or two, so will have to see if he/she confirms it.

Yep I can confirm it's the Common Ground. Pretty good quaffer

Hey BF do you mean with the Marker Shiraz Cab?? Is there something I should know, something people aren't telling me......?

I assume he's referring to the allure of the VM marketing wine blurbs that call to W&D like the Sirens, yet seem to result in many a disappointment. ;)

What ist his Epsilon Shiraz that you and Beefarmer speak highly of? Is/was it a VM secret deal?

I haven't seen the Shiraz on VM, but thats not to say that it hasn't appeared before. I picked mine up from our local wine shop, a little bit above cellar door price but i'd heard good things about it so i was keen to sample.

Another Mitolo release, this time for WineMarket.

If you want some you can buy it at Nicks wine merchants until it comes to the Fo again. Cheers

So not a VM Deal? maybe not the right thread

So not a VM Deal? maybe not the right thread

Most of the posts that you've referenced (except the Winemarket one which is out of place) are a response to someone asking "Is/was it a VM secret deal." It's not very practical if someone responds to his question in a different thread. I hardly think the link to nicks is OT since it's responding to this question.

Just my personal view, but let the moderators make these decisions instead of being pedantic and creating additional posts that are not adding value.
