Should Cathay Booking show up in my QFF ? Cant see it.

hi all

I just booked a business trip to Shanghai with Cathay and I asked for my QFF to be added to the booking to ensure I earn points and SCs on my QFF account.

However, I cant see the booking in "my bookings" when I check QFF account online. Was hoping to see it so I can select a seat.

Is this not available for Cathay to work on QFF site? thanks
 
It will no show unless it has a QF segment in it, different systems.
 
QF and CX are both on the same system ( Amadeus)

I would guess your travel agent might not have added your QFF number in the booking. You should be able to go to CX.com and add it there, then it should display on QF.com

I just checked the itinerary from the travel agent (we use AMEX at work) and its clearly showing my QFF number under Frequent Flyer number so not sure what else I can try. I dont have Marco Polo club membership so not sure if its worth applying for one and then checking my flight details on the CX website.

EDIT: just noticed it costs $50 to join Marco Polo CX club, not worth it just to select seats.
 
My CX bookings always appear if my QFF number is included.
The only exception has been a third party award where they compounded my first and middle name.
 
Hmm try using Finnair MMB to remove and then add back your QFF number and see if that works?

sorry what do you mean ? I cant see the QFF booking under my Finnair MMB

when I check this also on checkmytrip.com.au I can see its showing my QFF number there. weird!

is there a time frame how long this information takes to go through ? The flight was booked and confirmed 5 hours ago.

That page should ask for PNR and surname. Not QFF number and PIN. If it is asking for the latter, look below it for "Manage My Booking" see attached. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1407921324.101064.jpg

I am using the booking reference from Cathay (same one that works on Checkmytrip.com) and my surname and thats when I get that message - "A match could not be found. Check your details and try again."

If it was booked via a travel agent. It is possible that travel agent isn't using Amadeus as its GDS. In checkmy trip there sometimes is a. "Airline reference" did you see that?if so, plug that in to qantas.

If you can see your QFF number in the booking, is there a reason to be worried?
 
I guess not but I am a very curious man and would like to understand, why cant I see the booking in my QFF online system when others can. And usually, if something like this happens in my experience and with my luck, the number was maybe not entered properly and I wont get the points and then I will have to spend a month chasing them after the flights have been taken.

thanks, I just tried to enter the AMEX booking reference number and I get same error message. :(
 
Maybe it hasn't been ticketed yet.

When you look it up on checkmytrip do you see an e-ticket tab at the top?
 
Was the booking made via Amadeus? (Is the booking reference from the travel agent the same as the PNR for CX?)
