If you have a PNR that works on the CX site, is it the same as the booking reference you got from the travel agent? Or did you only get one reference?

I have a trip to Japan next week. It has 2 airlines which both use a different GDS. The travel agent made it in a 3rd GDS. So I have 3 different PNRs for the same ticket. One for each GDS that was involved in booking the trip.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Amex will have given you their own reference number, you may have to ask for the Amadeus one.

I have flights ticketed by LAN, which do not show on my Qantas profile. It happens that my last name is composed by multiple names, which are registered without spaces on Qantas. Because the LAN flight was booked with spaces, LAN doesn't recognize my QFF.

sorry what do you mean ? I cant see the QFF booking under my Finnair MMB

when I check this also on checkmytrip.com.au I can see its showing my QFF number there. weird!
When you input your CX PNR in Finnair MMB does the booking show up? If so, remove your QFF number, exit MMB, go in, and add in your QFF number again.

Will you then have to submit a retroactive claim for mileage?

I cant see anywhere on Finnair MMB where I can enter this information.

It is all about the GDS the agent uses. Amex uses Sabre, so it won't show in MMB without a QF segment. If the FF number shows in CheckMy Trip, then it's in the booking and there should be no problems.

oh ok, that explains it then. Yes, the QFF number is on the itinerary and also on checkmytrip.

When is the e ticket normally issued? Reason why I ask is on the classic.checkmytrip website under e-ticket numbers, its blank so maybe thats why its not showing in QFF? because it has not been ticketed yet.

I have always had my CX bookings appear on the QF system (as long as my QF number is in there)... however I wouldn't use the QF site to reserve seats. I would do that directly on the CX site. As a platinum you will have access to priority seating (including exit rows) free of charge.

We would issue the ticket as soon as we get the approval. Protects against fare and tax changes that way. But Amex have complicated internal processes so its likely not the consultant you booked with doing the ticketing.

That said, I wouldn't expect it to be longer than 24 hrs.

Showing in QFF is not about the ticketing status, just about the PNR. An un-ticketed booking will also show, if it has a QF segment or in Amadeus.

It's quite possible - why not call the agent and ask for the "ticket number".

Don't ask for anything else or elaborate - unless they give you a 6 digit PNR, in which case you state something like "10 digit Ticket Number please, not PNR".

If they won't give a ticket number, then ask if it has "been ticketed yet, not just booked"

A CX ticket number should start with "160- ...". [FWIW, Qantas "081- ..."]

Once upon a time when I did use a travel agent, I never had any of my non-QF flights appear unless I manually entered them myself via the other airlines' websites or record them against the ticket when at the airport. It was highly annoying.

We have 2 CX bookings. One made as a FF redemption on Qantas.com the other an AAdavntage through AA.

Mine made through QF shows up instantly. Partner's is nowhere in his profile despite his number included. Both show up on the CX website and Check My trip.

As above, it depend what system the agent is using.

If it was created in Sabre, did they give you a Sabre PNR, or just the one you're using on the CX/checkmytrip?
If you have the Sabre PNR, try looking it up on virtuallythere.com.

I'm not sure if it's related but I have a Alaskan redemption booking on CX and I receive an error trying to get it to show on QF MMB, even with my QF FF# added to the booking. It is definitely the correct Amadeus PNR and the e-ticket has been issued and is even viewable on the AY MMB. The ticket is for two people if that makes any difference. So, perhaps it's just a QF thing?

Incidentally, some revenue CX flights I'm taking in a couple of months and booked direct with Cathay appeared straight away on QF MMB after purchasing..
