its all a mystery, the ticket has been issued as I received the e-ticket number but I cant still get it to show up in Qantas.

If it was created in Sabre, did they give you a Sabre PNR, or just the one you're using on the CX/checkmytrip?
If you have the Sabre PNR, try looking it up on virtuallythere.com.

interesting, I entered the AMEX booking number (not the airline booking reference that I used on checkmytrip) on this website and all my flight details come up along with my QFF. So I assume I wont ever be able to see this in my QF online since its been booked using Sabre system?

Could you select seats through the CX website?

I have an award flight booked through QFF on CX (J) later this year and I was able to select seats on the CX website.

I am still not sure what the urgency to see if the booking appears on the QF MMB site.

Your functionality for this booking will be through the CX site, and you have stated that you can see your QF number through a number of sources.

Just a thought here, but I wonder if they could have entered your QFF number correct be prefixed it with an incorrect airline's FF program?

For example if your QFF number is : 12345 could it be possible that it was entered into AMEX's booking as CX12345, hence why it is not showing on your QFF profile? Is there any validation done with FF numbers whether they exist or not?

I had too many experiences where when I did not see the booking in QF MMB, I never got the SCs and points. Chasing them is a pain.

Honestly it shouldn't be a pain chasing missing SC's if you have boarding passes on yoy

Always keep your boarding passes, at least until the points post.

I have 98% of my boarding passes going back to 1993.

Has something changed? Up until June I was able to see Cathay bookings on Qantas website. I have not had any CX flights since.

EDIT: just noticed it costs $50 to join Marco Polo CX club, not worth it just to select seats.
If you are flying business class then you should be able to select seats on Cathay website for free. In fact in the past I have been able to select seats in economy for free as well.

for non-status holders, (non-exit row) seat selection for Cathay economy is free of charge and may be a available at time of booking depending on fare class. For lower fare classes it is only available from the opening of on line check in.

oneworld elites can select all seats, including exits, free of charge from time of booking.

You should be able to find your reservation on the CX site using your name and booking reference number.

Ok, so I flew the flight and I can see I was awarded the points and status credits so all good.

question I have, I did Syd to hk and then to shanghai all in J class and was awarded 60 SCs for both legs. Does that sound right? One flight was 8.5hrs the other one less than two hours. Should the longer flight which also had more miles obviously not get more SCs?

SYD-HKG would be 120 SCs if you flew QF, and would also have been 120 SCs on CX prior to the "Simpler and Fairer" changes.

HKG-PVG is not considered direct competition to QF routes, so it stays at 60 SCs.

Same here. Booked Europe return on Cathay Pacific (through Flight Centre) and the flights are not showing in "My Booking" on Qantas FF website. My FF number is definitely in the CP booking. I have contacted QANTAS, Cathay, and FC, but none seem to be able to fix this. I get excuses like "Cathay uses a different system", and "you need the One World reservation code, not the CP code" (I've tried both). But here's the thing - my CP flights DO show up in the QANTAS App on my phone! But I'm still dubious about getting points credit.

Why the fixation with seeing your booking in the Qantas site?? History as a precedent says you'll get the points, so chill..

If it's a Cathay booking, Qantas probably can't do anything about it - they can't touch the booking.

While it is nice to see all your flights in one spot, it won't affect whether you get points or not. Cathay Pacific will send the details to Qantas after you have flown.
