>>>> ADDED 30 Sept 2010 <<<<

Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Re: Upgrade chances on flight to Asia.

We're flying QF12 LAX - SYD on 9 October are are in seats 17 J & K but would prefer to be in the smaller front J cabin (or the front of the downstairs cabin LOL but I haven't put in for an upgrade for that). T-80 has just passed and there is still nothing open in rows 11 - 13 (except 13E but we need two seats preferably an A and a B). Does Expert Flyer show any information on actual seat allocation?

Sorry if this is a completely stupid question!

No - it's not stupid - E/F or KVS at least show where seats are blocked rather than allocated.

I suggest you keep trying - someone may get upgraded out of Emerald City to First. Here's an SG view from E/F: (X = Unallocated but blocked from SG, + = Available)Results from ExpertFlyer.com

Thanks Serfty. I'll keep checking. I've logged in on husbands FF account - he's gold whereas I'm a lowly silver. I assume he will have a better chance of seats opening up than I do.

It looks like J is going to be pretty full on that flight. As a matter of interest how is F looking? I may decide to blow 90k points on an upgrade.

Would anyone with EF/KVS availability be kind enough to post the seat map for QF480 this Saturday (8 December) PER-MEL?

Looks a bit curious on the QF website.

Sorry, I should have specified economy.

It was subbed a while ago, 763 for 738, and it has since also been removed from sale.

Thank you very much serfty. It's as I thought, seems light on status pax as most would have checked their booking and reallocated by now after the equipment change a month or two ago.

Now the only question is exit row or row 4!

Sent from my GT-I9300T
Removed from sale as serfty points out. Not the only weekend transcons that have been shifted to 73H metal. Nice way to keep yield and seat factor higher.

QF006 FRA-SIN-SYD 11 Jan.
What is the current seat config for PE rows 29 & 30 (30J). Looks like a two row cabin.
Should we swap from 32A to 30J or are all seats now A380 standard?
Thanks.

thanks, unfortunately it's 2x4x2 but just thought I'd check being a two row cabin.

Somehow QF128 HKG-SYD tonight has morphed from an A380 to a 747 in the past couple of days and Qantas with their infinite wisdom thought they were doing me a favour by re-allocating my 80K to 64K!

In the meantime though it would appear I have been upgraded to 37E in premium economy but a middle seat is a middle seat. I think it is a fairly full flight and no chance of trying to change seat until I get to HKG later tonight.

Can someone please have a look if bulkhead aisle seats are still available on following flights?

28 FEB QF52 SIN- BNE
19 APR QF5 SYD-SIN

The second flight looks to be fairly full at this stage. Perhaps route

19 APR QF35 MEL-SIN or
19 APR QF51 BNE-SIN

as these flights appear to be lightly loaded

Too difficult?

I need help please. I have just booked USDM SYD-CDG return with a stopover in BKK on the return. I have looked up AwardTravelr, Expert Flyer and Seat Guru for the seating options on each flight, but am getting different configurations between them. The flights are as follows:-

TG 472 SYD-BKK F (747)
TG 930 BKK-CDG F (A380)
LX685 CDG-ZRH J (A320)
TG 971 ZRH-BKK F (A340)
TG 475 BKK-SYD F (747)

I am travelling with Jnr#1 and we need to sit together.

Can anyone enlighten me on which aircraft we are likely to get and the best seats?

sorry not sure if this is the right place to ask this question.. I am flying Qantas QF107 thursday 31 jan 2013 SYD-LAX 11.55 . Clicking on the aircraft type link on my booking it says its
Boeing 747-400 .
My question is how do I know if this aircraft is one of the refurbished versions ?
second question is where do you find out the exact plane ?

Many thanks for your help :)
