>>>> ADDED 30 Sept 2010 <<<<

Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

I am aware this is November, but can anyone check the availability of the bassinet seats (Y) between PER and MEL on QF762 on the 21st November.

Thanks

I am flying 19 April.
Just had a look at expert flyer and it shows rows 36 - 38 in a 2-4-2 configuration, and in the Y section

It also has somebody's ample backside parked in 36G. Looks like you have done alright, have a good flight

Who is sitting in my seat? ;)

I hope it stays that way....

Does Expert Flyer allow you to view the seat map for a specific flight if you don't have a reservation (specifically a QF 744)?

Yes... I use it to check if the extra leg room seats are available before I book.. It will not let you look at all seats though .... It will depend on your status ,,, ie gold can see more seats than silver

Can anyone tell me which "333" configuration CX746 is (or even CX738) running from DXB to MNL?

As I understand, CX runs 3x configurations for their A330's.

(I'm hoping it's one of the two that have lie-flat in J.)

Edit: Realised only one configuration of the 3 has Y+. Did a search and there's Y+ on this route - so it looks like it has 40x lie-flat J seats + 28x Y+ seats. (Let me know if I'm wrong on this though.)

It would appear as though I've gained a silver shadow on what appears to be a very lightly loaded QF480 on Tuesday morning (which I booked earlier this evening). I have a blocked seat following me around...

I am trying to look at Y seat map for QF127 SYD-HKG 30-MAY on Expert Flyer. But can't get it, all the other cabins are showing.
Can anyone else see if it works for you? Trying to see what seats are available before booking.

Thanks!

Looks like my hoped-for shadow on QF52 tonight is gone. We have D,E,H in the one row selected, and F is now showing as unselectable. I now see two selectable seats in all of the Y cabin.
Ah well, them's the breaks with end of school hols in Qld and buying non-upgradable Y. Here's to a solid sleep after experiencing the new lounge! ;)

Hi All,

I am travelling in a party of 4 (2 wp and 2 nb) all adults 13 may qf011 and 30 may qf012. My Platinum just posted today and I saw new seats become available (partner had his platinum post a couple weeks ago and it opened up a couple of seats but not enough for us all to enjoy).

I have just changed our seating allocation to be on the upper deck of the a380 there and back. row 33 over and 32 back all seats = a, b, d & e.
Previously I had allocated us seats on the lower deck in the last few rows, one person in each row and was going to hope no one selected seats next to us so we could have some space but that is never guaranteed... Do you think its better to sit upstairs where there are fewer people and that is confirmed, and while it is the back of the plane we should be able to disembark in a reasonable amount of time given theres not that many people sitting in front of us, or would you run the gauntlet of trying to get seats so we can stretch out sideways?
We will be in the F lounge before the flight but none of us, save my partner are drinkers and well the other 2 people are my parents so I doubt my partner would drink anything in front of them.

Going by this thread, the upper deck would be the place to be:

(Do make sure you get to your seat as soon as possible after boarding starts as locker space is limited!)

Thanks Serfty,

I had a read of it and looked at the photos but it seems most people are travelling solo or with 1 other so they are talking very specifically with seats. I have allocated upper deck, I called my dad and he is really excited as is my partner about being upstairs on a plane so I think we will stick with that.

Might just move over a seat so I'm not in D getting tackled by the trolley. I wonder if anyone would sit next to me if I moved...

QF 108 J class Skybed Mk1 or 2?

Hi
Could someone help with this enquiry re
Skybed Mk1 or 2 for QF 108 THU 27 Feb 2014?
Thanks

change of upgrade on QF 29 tomorrow (May 18)

Hello!

I've put in my first ever QF upgrade request for my flight to Hong Kong tomorrow (QF 29), and I'm wondering what sort of chance I have of it going through. (I'm a PS.) When I search for availability on KVS, I get J9, so that seems promising. When I look at the seat map, however, I get this:

Code:
     A B | E | F | J K
 1 X X X X + +
 2 - - - X - X
 3 X - - X - X
 4 - - - - - -
 5 - - - - - X

[+] Available [P] Preferred [G] Galley
[-] Unavailable [X] Blocked [|] Aisle

Can someone help me interpret this? What's the difference between blocked and unavailable here? Does this mean high chance or low chance?

Thanks!

Cameron
