I just paid for my membership again ( worth it ) and found that i ended up paying twice. Membership was extended for 2 years.

Not real sure why twice, maybe I pressed "pay" twice somewhere?

It doesn't matter as I would have paid again this time next year.

Peter.

Similar problem happened to me. I received an e-mail that my membership was about to expire, so promptly paid for new year's subscription. I think, though, that I had it setup to automatically renew my membership each year, so in fact paid 2 subscription fees.

But, like you, no big deal as it saves me the need to re-subscribe next year.

Hawkeye and MAX_1 (or anyone else who has paid twice)

Firstly, thanks for your positive comments about the value of GOLD Membership :)

When you initially upgrade to GOLD or SILVER membership, you create a Paypal subscription which (unless cancelled via Paypal) will automatically deduct your subscription fee when it is due. The email you receive is more of a reminder - if you don't want to renew then you have an opportunity to cancel the Paypal Subscription before funds are deducted from your account.

Feel free to contact me, if you wish to have your second payment refunded.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

I have noticed since the forum software was upgraded recently the "Frequent Flyer Program Memberships" specified in our profile no longer appears with the post. Is this intentional or has a setting being overlooked?

With the recent upgrade, Admin went more for vBulletin default settings rather than employing the more tailored preferences that had been the norm for previous versions.

This enables any future upgrade to be more efficient and certainly more reliable.

I completely understand the reasoning for this (I am in the IT industry) but I for one miss having that additional info appear in each post with the username.

If you're a paid member you can use a signature for that. As some do.

It was this way previously, but thought with the old template it was a fairy simple change to make, and one that didn't make it to the new templates.

I agree the additional information is handy to know up front and makes answering some posts a lot easier rather than constantly asking "What is your status?".

I am in IT as well and I do not see the reasoning in leaving out this information.

Some people choose not to be paid members but are valuable contributors to the forum. I can just see this discussion going around in circles....

Oh yeah, I didn't mean anything by it. Free as compared to a minimum of $35 a year is a big difference. For convenience sake it's probably not a good deal, but there is a way is all I was saying. :)
