Question about the forum software

Good update. It sometimes help to put the post into some sort of context.

IS the text at the top of the page when viewing a thread just a little repetitive? :)
Yes it is repetitive and to be honest I have never noticed it before. It could also be a bug as the text changes when replying to the thread.

Did the forum "hic-up" tonight? Am I having déjà vu? I am sure I have read a post then, seen it disappear and reapear. Then I made a post commenting on it, now that has disappeared.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Re Silver/Gold memberships etc - It seems these can only be funded by using a bank account source rather than credit cards through Paypal?

Is this correct? I don't trust Paypal with my direct bank details... I'm not sure if previous silver/gold members were grandfathered into still being able to use Credit Cards for their subscriptions?

Suggest you PM admin

I paid my Gold membership with Visa CC through Paypal in June.
It the bank account problem something to do with your current location ?

Hmm, well my renewal 'bounced' via Paypal (maybe was an issue with my credit card address with paypal not matching my billing address, or could have been my bank being problematic - as per another post of mine). So I cancelled it, and then tried to resign up now and saw the bank account as the only option.

So could be something new. Either way, I don't trust Paypal with my bank account details...

For some reason this site is doing odd things for me in IE8 (but works fine and dandly in Firefox). On the main Community page, I get a table but the columns (forum, Last post) are all empty.

Best guess I have is that something has become enable or disabled in IE, but for the life of me I can't work out what...

Find iexplore.exe in your task manager and kill the process. Computer will work much faster:rolleyes::D (Posted using IE8)

I suspect the problem is to do with the way your PayPal has been set up or there could be a problem with the cards you have linked to your PayPal account. Others have subscribed/renewed using Credit Cards via Paypal.

If you like you can pay via direct transfer or cheque. If you are interested in this option, please PM me for details

I might end up with a ticket or three :)

Yeah I do. Billing address for that CC is still in Australia. Tried deleting the card in my profile and re-adding. All works well, but still complains:

"You cannot use this credit card for this transaction. Please use another funding source."

When trying to add another MC I have (although I havn't used it in a couple of years, so the bank could be legitimately stopping it)

"This credit card has been refused by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was refused, please contact your credit card issuer's Customer Service department."

I'll go through the PM + Direct deposit route I think.

Cheers.

Is It Just Me

For about a fortnight now I have been getting the following while browsing this forum- seems only once per session & only this forum
"Runtime Error ProgramC\Program Files\Internet explorer\explore exe. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information."
I am running XP & don't recall changing any settings. I am self taught computer user & not sure of a solution.:(. Hope some experts here can help.

RB,

There is a thread here for these sort of questions so maybe a moderator will move this over there.

If you are having ongoing issues I suggest you send a note to 'admin' who will probably be able to sort this out for you. ;)

Re: Is It Just Me

I've found that since the massive Qantas ads have been added to the top of the page, it's certainly slowed down my browsing as the flash/java (whatever it is) process chews up memory.

*waits for people to tell him to pay for AFF membership and remove the ads*

Been a while since I saw any Java applets on the web. Lots of flashware around though.
