In fact, Row 6 is potentially better because there's always going to that person who'll happily plonk their cough in 4B/4E, 5B/5E over a nice aisle seat just because it's further forward and it might shave 30 seconds getting off the plane.

I've found people always seem to even take middle seats in row 5... Tempted to just change to row 6 instead of 5AF as my preference.

Me too a few days ago, except it was a PER-BNE marathon

The withdrawal of wide bodies from PER flights has been the single worst thing QF have done since covid, even in the 80s AN had the odd 767 flying the route. Virtually nothing now, apart from the 789 tag flights if your travel plans allow them.

Unless Virgin puts competitive pressure on for QF to improve the domestic product QF has little incentive to change.

QF domestic is a lot better than what you would get for flying to Europe on BA for example where their club (business) is an economy seat with the middle seat left empty.
