p.s i am a qantas club member
"Aisle forward", "window rear", etc are the closest you will get to an individual seat preference.
QF allocated domestic seats the evening before the flight departs, allocating in descending order according to seat preference:
1. Chairman's Lounge
2. QF Platinum
3. OW Emerald
4. QF Gold
5. OW Sapphire
6. QF Silver
7. OW Ruby
8. Qantas Club
9. QF Bronze who were once in the above categories, and still have a seat preference on their file.
You're way down the list, so don't be surprised if your "aisle forward" preference constantly sees you in row 46 on a 767 flight - you're just more forward than the plebs on the flight.
Exit rows for domestic flights (if not pre-allocated by the computer) are allocated at check-in, with the usual caveat that you must be capable of operating the emergency exit. Leave the crutches at home.
On QF Link Crash 8 flights, I almost always wind up with an exit row to myself - works great for me, and probably has a lot to do with my status (QF Plat), and the frequency with which I fly on some QF link routes.
On an international flight, exit rows are available for reservation by QF Plat and Chairman's Lounge members only. If any seats remain on the day of check-in, you might get lucky if you're 8 feet tall and can flop out 11 inches to impress the check-in girls.
