Source?Syd-JFK first, no surprise
Presser Airline Secrets ExposedSource?
It is expected immanently. But widely expected to be SYD-JFK.I was expecting a QF source for some reason (“… Qantas just announced their first route for ultra-long-haul 'Project Sunrise' …”). I just checked the QF home page but nothing there about this.
I would think they would most likely keep it as is.Will they keep SYD-AKL-JFK or instead shift it to MEL or BNE? (Assuming Mascot know how originate widebodies outside of Sydney…)
Was hoping for this. Well I would’ve much preferred MEL-LHR but it was always going to be Sydney first.

Feels like Déjà vu. Overpromise and under deliver. Would be sad if MEL misses out and is treated much worse than SYD yet again."Executive Traveller understands the planned Melbourne non-stops to London and New York are now being reconsidered."

I don't think us Melbourne folk will give them the yields and bums on seats they will need. Decades of QF shunning MEL have taught us all to fly with SQ et al. Makes it hard now for QF to turn a profit hereFeels like Déjà vu. Overpromise and under deliver. Would be sad if MEL misses out and is treated much worse than SYD yet again.
Can’t even get Premium Economy from MEL-SIN atm to connect with the current QF1 as the A330 doesn’t have it.
