They could do a midday departure from London arriving into Sydney early evening.
But Qantas seem to avoid having any evening long-haul arrivals into Sydney.
So for a quick turnaround they might go with a 5am landing at LHR, then around 8am departure for LHR-SYD which would get to SYD around 2-3pm?
I suspect they’ll go with something like
SYD 6pm - LHR 5am
LHR 8am - SYD 2pm
They’ll want to get into Sydney as early afternoon as possible to allow for some domestic connections.
That gives them a bit more flexibility than the other option avoiding the aircraft staying on the ground overnight which would be something like
SYD 8am - LHR 7pm
LHR midnight - SYD 5am
which I can’t see them going for
