The vouchers are valid for anyone - you can get the opportunity to change the name when redeeming.

If you want to make a booking with a voucher for more than one person you need to buy the voucher for then number of people you want to book for. e.g. For you and Bee-Jnr then you need 2 x voucher. (e.g. $50 voucher for 2 PAX costs $100).

Gave them a buzz, was told to wait another day or two.. :-|

Happened to me too. Asked them to cancel the voucher as it took too long and I needed to purchase before midnight tonight. So frustrating and down 5000 pts.

The first of my $150 Amex credits appeared in my account yesterday. This was from an Amex issued card. Now to buy a voucher with my ANZ Amex :)

Question - am I correct that you cannot use more than one voucher towards a single fare? E.g. I need to book a J rtn to Europe, costing $7k, but it looks like the highest value of voucher is $2k. So can I buy 3 x $2k + 1 x $1k and combine them all for this fare? I think not, but just wanted to check, as the bonus points on that amount would be quite useful!

I remember reading on AFF about someone who had used multiple vouchers for the one booking, via the call center. From memory it took some prodding but was possible, however obviously not as convenient as being able to book online.

Thanks. Certainly not going to risk getting stuck with an additional $5k worth of gift vouchers, so I think I'll play it safe.

I tried it once and call centre knocked it back immediately.

How quickly does the 5 QF pts per $ spent post? I will probably be a little short of QF pts for an award booking :(.
i know the Ts an Cs say:
Qantas Points may take up to 8 weeks to be credited to your account from the end of the campaign period.
but just want to know what happens in practice ;)

I received the points from gift vouchers bought during last December's promotion on 1 February this year.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Just wanted to say a quick thanks with respect to the Gift Card offer and in combination with the AMEX $150 refund when you spend $700 on QF flights.
We have been planning a trip to NZ for a while now and have been watching the fares and times that we wanted. The fares started at $1084pp then went down to $1010pp the day before I used the QF gift cards to purchase.
The purchase price for exactly the same trip, using the Gift Cards, the day after the fare was $1010, and using exactly the same flight options, was $964!! Happy with that!
In the process we purchased:
$500 + $200 voucher and used this to redeem a $504 return trip PER to MEL. Then $200 voucher for a $234 one-way from MEL to AKL. We did this for two people, and we both used our ANZ AMEX cards. The vouchers were purchased on 5/12, redeemed on 5/12, and the $150 was deposited into our accounts on 9/12.
Our only issue was that I am Silver and hubby is Bronze, and because we booked separately we could not do the seat booking online (and hubby would have been charged $15 to book a seat).
Qantas were most accommodating and have linked our flights and put us both together.
I had no idea about the AMEX offer until I was reading the Gift Card thread here on AFF so the $150 per booking is a real bonus. Thanks again.

QF usually run a bulk bonus points run a month or so post the end of the voucher period

also a reminder on the Amex QF spend offer - it is till 20 Dec and not 31 Dec. I'm holding off my getting my voucher as I want the longest validity I can -just in case :)

I think that AMEX offer was only open for a limited number of cards and when I went to register I had no luck. That was the spend $700 and get back $150 one. Happy to be wrong though!

I purchased 2 x $350 vouchers.

Just received the $150 credit back on my amex card. So confirming it works if anyone is still in doubt from early in this thread.

One funny thing I noticed when using my vouchers.... I was trying to book MEL-CNS-MEL.

For the dates I wanted on the regular flight booking page, the cheapest i could get was $199 + $265.

When I logged in to use my voucher, the exact same flights and dates was $199 + $230.

So I re-checked the regular flight booking page and still $199 + 265.

Why did my vouchers come up with cheaper prices on my return leg???

I wasn't complaining at all and booked the cheaper price twice with my 2 vouchers I was just rather amazed that there were different prices on the voucher booking page vs regular booking page for identical fares.

I was also thinking of holding out until the latest possible date (ie 20 Dec) but am worried whether Qantas will process the gift voucher purchase on the same day or not. I have had previous instances where the voucher purchase didn't get put through on my Amex card by Qantas until a few days later. :!:

yup which is why I'm doing mine on the 17th or 18th :)

does anyone know from experience if the vouchers can be used for flights marketed by QF but operated by another airline? (e.g. JQ).

I'm looking at booking flights MEL-BKK on the JQ direct flight and returning BKK-SIN (3K operated, QF code) and SIN-MEL (QF)?

Aren't these vouchers supposed to be valid for 12 months?

I bought one tonight and it says "valid until 28 November, 2017". It's unlikely to matter, but chopping a fortnight off the deal still seems unreasonable to me.
