Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

While not strictly related to this 'refurbishment' thread (apologies), I have noted in the QF delays thread how A388 VH-OQF as QF6010 is returning from AUH with arrival in SYD suggested as about 1105 hours on Monday 9 September. It had been there since 25 August.

And VH-OQI is going there as QF6011. Perhaps VH-OQF was having a landing gear replacement rather then the C-Check heavy maintenance because that took OQA and B 6 and 12 weeks respectively but VH-OQD spent only 2 weeks there in March 2018 for that reason.

Yes, sounds a better hypothesis. It may be back in time for the busy September school holidays.

I’m booked to go Mel-Singapore 8 Sept 2020 on Qantas business. What are the chances the A380 I’m on will be refurbished by then?

From what I read in another thread, 9 out of 12 A380 should be refurbished by then, so about 75% chance (although of course aircraft usage is not entirely random).

VH-OQK Completion of the new cabin, departure 30.09.2019 to London / Sydney

So be interesting to watch the seatmap of QF2 on 30/9.
On prior schedule it should be a swap with OQL
