All 4 lounges are near each other, with the CX and QF lounges by the entrance to the Gate 1-11 concourse, and the BA and AA lounges by the entrance to the Gate 13-22 concourse. Heathrow Hubmaps

The F host said other people's experiences were similar and encouraged me to provide feedback.

What an indictment from a staff member in opening weeks. Good on them though.

Similar to HKG Pier F - they have had Rothschild NV for some time now. Not surprising given that the LHR fitout is similar to the Pier F in HKG.
Never been to Pier J so I don't know what champagne they have.

Pier J and the CX J at LHR have Moët NV

I still haven't fully recovered from the shock of my evening visit to write a response to the SST. If I had to summarise the lounge in one word, it would be CHEAP - the decor, the ambience, the food, the service. After all tbe hype, this is not a premium lounge.

I only lasted 10 min. The F host said other people's experiences were similar and encouraged me to provide feedback.

I also lasted 15 minutes out of politeness because I was there at a very quiet time and didn't want to offend any staff. As a mere Platinum not even P1 or revenue F, I was severely disappointed and felt they could have done a lot more with the space including a F section upstairs perhaps. Numbers will dwindle over time as the regular T3 flyers visit once and never again as many I have talked to were expecting something more similar to LAX in terms of menu selection.

In terms of busy times, I find around 4-6pm to be the most crowded times where CX F gets quite full with 2 CX departures in close proximity in addition to the final BA intra-Europes to VIE, BUD, HEL etc.

Visited yesterday for about 20 minutes before heading the the CX Flounge next door.

Gin bar is a nice touch, the staff seemed a little nervous and stressed but were all very nice. The lounge seems a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Let's hope the early feedback helps them refine operations.

I don't pop through London that often so it was nice to see it but like everyone else CX F is king along with BA F for the whisky selection.

Do you think there will come a time when the Cx lounge restricts QF pax access (esp. under Qf's instructions) a la Sfo?

unlikely. They would be in breach of oneworld rules doing so.
There is heaps of space in the CX LHR lounge. While there is a CX flight departing LHR around the same time as each QF flight, the lounge is large enough to handle it.
At SFO, they'd have pax for CX873 and early pax for CX893 trying to access a smaller lounge at the same time as QF74 pax arrive.
They use capacity limits at SFO to prevent non CX pax coming in. There is little to no reason to do that at LHR.

As one example, this is the dinner menu in the restaurant. Who would consider any of these options a meal before a 20.45 flight?

Upstairs there was curry a la a domestic J lounge.

The lounge was packed with non-QF passengers, and the new staff seemed overwhelmed.

I had the same experience, just ugly, crowded, kids everywhere! Got out of there quickly and retreated to the civilised CX F lounge!
