I had the same thing happen for me this morning.my points just landed, bang on the 3rd statement date. presuming i now have to wait another month for the cash back (which kinda sucks), but oh well...
It's not bad if you're otherwise getting value out of the card but the $0.0007 / point sign on bonus is quite a bit better than $0.0140 / point year 2 retention bonus with the QANTAS Rewards Signature. The anniversary points though is slightly better (in theory), "An additional xx,xx_ bonus Qantas Points will be awarded when you continue to hold your card for 12 months, credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership Account within the 13th month."
I'll be holding onto my current Premium card until I get the anniversary points. For just the annual fee of $295, it's better than other cards where you need another $4k+ spend to get the 2nd years' worth of points.
So your AF is -$180 and your cost per point is -$0.0018 per point. Not too bad of an outcome.I submitted a formal complaint because mine hadn't come yet - they said they'd add a one off $250 credit to my account, as well as my actual $250 credit that they say will continue to be added to my account whenever the system gets around to it. So as far as I can tell, I have actually profited on my annual fee?!
