Oh yeah, totally forgot about that. QF93 leaves at 11:20. Do they close on the close/departure of QF93 or a bit before (when the boarding is called for example)?

Hopefully we get a few more people recording their experiences and we should be able to paint an accurate picture.

Ok well have just spoken the the F Lounge ladies and they have confirmed the following.

Melbourne F Check In Suite opens at 4 am and stays open untill they have checked in all passengers on QF133 or untill the flight is closed. which is scheduled to depart at 5.30 so normal latest would be 4.45 pm.

The First Class suite does NOT close between flights

Hope that this helps everyone

Open 4 am then closes at 4.45pm

QF93 leaves at 11:00. I got to the airport at 10:10, and the F check in suite was closed. Oh well, I thought I check in at the usual counters and use the lounge. Bloody h3ii, they refuse to check me in at the counter, and keep telling me flights open only 3 hours before flight. So I am now stuck at the airport with some work I thought I'd be doing while waiting in the lounge. So much for having a relaxed start to my trip.... Aaarrrrgghhh!!

I'm confused.

You got to the airport at 1010 for a 1100 departure (50 minutes total) & couldn't check in?

No presumably (s)he is on a later flight but probably the F check in had closed an hour before the flight or after the last eligible qf93 passenger had checked in.

If your bags are small enough, take them through T1 security and use the domestic business lounge until about 200 minutes before your flight.

QF029 is correct, I am on a later flight, but got to the airport about 50 minutes before QF93 as I was told the F check in suite will close after QF93 and will re-open for the next flight (QF9 I think). Alas, that wasn't meant to be, and I'm now stuck at Hudson Coffee...

Hi Serfty,
Unfortunately not only my checkin bag is a bit too big to go take to the domestic security, I have also packed some liquid, etc in there, so I doubt I can get it past the security :-( That's cool, I'll wait... I'm just disappointed that Qantas cannot hold into my luggage prior to the T-3.

Domestically, liquids are generally fine, a bag that cannot fit through the security xray? Not so fine ...

T-4 due to QF9 being an A380.
