Mel F checkin and lounge opening times

Hey all,

I'm on QF25 in a month or so to AKL, and was wondering if anyone knew exactly what time the F checkin opened and also what time the F lounge opens.. The flight departs at 6am!! Ouch!!

International Mel Lounges open at 04:30 according to the QF web site. Flight baggage check-in should open at 04:00 or 2 hours before the flight.

The eggs benedict with a cold champs and a side of salmon is a nice start to the day. But an hour may be pushing it. I'll call the Platinum desk to confirm the FLounge opening time. If may be 04:00 to align with check-in opening.

I noticed on the website it doesn't have the opening times, so was wondering who had first hand experience with it! Might put in a call though. or is there a direct number for the MEL F Lounge?

I would change flights to suit schedule not lounge access, unless it's a nonbusiness trip.

Never have I taken QF25 since it went to an OMG hour departure; normally I can pin down QF133 the evening before for little extra cost.

Schedule is flexible... it's a work trip.. And i hate OMG o'clock!

Also worth checking what time Immigration opens. In BNE it is supposed to be 5am, but I have been left waiting until closer to 5:15 on one occasion. The crew operating QF8 were all waiting too. So lounge time was brief with boarding commencing around 6am.

well it does open at 4am, F Lounge at 4.30am.

Now to find out what time they close and re-open during the day... I have QF009 in october so looking at maximising some Flounge time!

I don't think things have changed much, other than an earlier QF133 and for Daylight Saving variances.

Anyone know what time the MEL F check-in area is opening for QF29 these days? Departure is currently at 23:55 with QF133 leaving at 17:30, so one would assume it would be closed at 17:00 until 21:00 - does anyone know whether this is the case or if not what the current arrangements are?

based on QF9 it will open around 3.5 hours before the flight, so around 8.30pm. I could be wrong though

Will be open by 8:30pm, but sometimes 10-15min earlier.

Believe me, I would! Sadly, am travelling with checked bags and companions, so that is out.
